what used to be the mao rooms (the lounge bar in c. d'emili pou 6, now owned by el divino), which remained closed this summer because they didnt have time to finish the reforms inside, will reopen next summer as el divino lounge!!

this year privilege will open on june 3rd (instead of late june) and that manumission/meganite/ibiza rocks/etc will start earlier too (instead of early july).

a new place to check out in ibiza town: el club in c. pere de portugal 9, which used to be the theater sala europa (between 1999 and 2005, year in which the subvention from the consell insular stopped and they had to close its doors) and its now co-owned by the penelope ressie and also artistic director sebastian gamboa plus another two guys. apparently the interior has been completely changed and now it looks more like a small club/lounge bar. even if in december they had a kind-of-opening just for friends, its closed probably due to the works on the street which will become pedestrian. keep your ears open for more details coming soon!!

tells me that its actually closed because they had a denuncia from a neighbor the same night of the opening and they want to make sure all the licenses are okay before they try to reopen

in related news, diario de ibiza published yesterday a long list with the details of all the new societies created lately on the island including this one:

its easy to understand: CASETA productions is the name of the society behind the new el club, formed by a guy called carlos, the dj sebastian gamboa and the ex-privilege tally............ get it?

btw, el club was denounced by the upstairs neighbor.......... a policeman

and another surprise in sa penya: angelo, the largest gay bar in ibiza including a restaurant in its huge roof-top terrace, has hung the "se traspasa" sign too. like its neighbor oriental, it was open for a while this winter

the taberna coneixem in jesus is for sale and the indian restaurant deva's in the bay, for rent

during december the "se traspasa" sign disappeared and reappeared a few times which suggests that they may have changed, a few times, their mind about getting rid of oriental. another option could be that so far nobody wants to pay the 150.000€ which, according to a little cuu-cu cuu-cu, they are asking for the lease!!

since yesterday, and after paying 15.000€ in advance, oriental has new management

a little update: apparently gamboa is no longer involved with penelope and has also left balearic people!!

and he is not the only one: apparently most of the RRPPs and gogos are moving over to pacha!!

anyway, contrary to all the confusing rumours circulating during the last months (according to which the club would not continue this summer due to lots of debts, etc etc etc), seems like penelope will carry on with mostly the same parties than last summer but with different management..........

maybe because they dont know yet whats going on? apparently none of the promoters have signed any contract yet.......... to give you an idea of how confusing is the situation, i know that one of them has an important offer from another club and keeps waiting to see if el pene continues or not!!

After the success of our party last year we would like to announce our Ibiza party this coming season

It will be on Wednesday 16th August at the new Kanya which is being rebuilt as we speak and will now has 2 pools and a proper beach for dancing!!, we will be holding our free party in the day, majority of our residents be there including Matt Cooper, Skin Deep, DAT Elektronique and Dave Sandford plus more tbc and this year we wil be announcing a massive headliner to play nearer the time...

Punch will be provided by us and it will be mental if last years party was anything to go by.

If your over there working spread the word as this will really be a workers party.
