That sucks, I was looking forward to La Troya @ Amnesia, now I will have to spend almost the entire time @ Space, not that there is a problem with Space, but it would take up 80 percent of the time.
Only club I will visit other then that is Pacha.

Does anyone know the reason for the move? La Troya was a great success at Amnesia and the venue worked so well. Space is far darker and, whilst undeniably a fantastic club, simply won't work as well as Amnesia for a special night such La Troya. Why on earth would La Troya want to leave Amnesia for Space? and/or why would Amnesia want to lose La Troya?

lets see...... last year at the end of june a friend of la troya family already announced in this forum that they would leave amnesia and move to penelope (btw, a club in which brasilio de oliveria was involved financially). as you should know by now if you have been following this thread, penelope is not opening this year so it seemed like they would continue at amnesia after all (btw, the last la troya newsletter sent last friday still mentions amnesia) but things have changed. someone who knows both well was telling me two months ago that the relationship between brasilio and martin ferrer (amnesia's big boss) was so bad that last year they dont even spoke to each other during the whole season!! (you love gossip eh ! ! )

anyway, no official confirmation yet sooooo.....

Having arrived from Brazil in the late 70s, Brasilio (as he tirelessly explains, it's his real name) opened the original Coco Loco bar in the narrow streets of Ibiza Town's port area, serving just this onemysterious drink - offered for free, though patrons were invited to make contributions. The bar, staff, spirit - and 'Spirit' - were transported, first to Ku (now Privilege) in the early 80s, then later to Amnesia in 1999.

..... and an updated version of that fantastic article would now say "and finally to space in 2006"!!

what used to be the mao rooms (the lounge bar in c. d'emili pou 6, now owned by el divino), which remained closed this summer because they didnt have time to finish the reforms inside, will reopen next summer as el divino lounge!!

even if its not completely finished yet, i have been told that tonight they have an opening party for-friends-only. apparently the name has been changed to something like eivissa lounge!!

the striptease bar gorms garage in the west end (renamed temptation this summer) is already doing building works. apparently the legendary bar, opened in the 70s by pepe roselló from space who still owns it nowadays (and known back then as el refugio, a restaurant with bands playing live), will be a space bar!!

although last year there were already rumours circulating about it, according to which pepe was interested in doing something with gorms garage (which would make perfect sense after the fiasco when he tried to open a new club in ibiza town, near burger king, and later in san antonio, near villa mercedes where now theres the town hall, and the authorities said nooooo), seems like next summer it will be rented again by the same people so no new space bar for now. apparently they want to make it bigger (upstairs) and renew all the electricity installation

apparently it reopens as temptation on june 16th and next year, according to different sources, it will finally turn into a space lounge bar

the bar active in the bay, which had its winter closing party last wednesday, is for rent

open again!!

Kanya has been gutted and lavished with millions of euros of art deco arty decorations and rebranded, er, Kanya Beach, presumably so even the drunkest of holidaymakers make the connection.

The terracing will be "massive - twice as much as Coastline" promises spokesman and entertainments manager Mo Chaudry, better known for his involvement with Cream (tho this is not a joint project). The luvved up Liverpudlians will be take over the venue all day on Thursday before their Amnesia parties.

"We're gonna have some parties with Housesonic who have people like Soul Avengerz and ATFC" ," continues Mo. "Tuesday we'll have pre-party for Crasher Classics at Eden and for Wednesday we're talking to Filthy Gorgeous do the daytimes hopefully 8) . The Garlands pre-party will be on Wednesday night."

Friday evening Dusted will enter the building. Saturday will see Electric Sex in the daytime. On Sundays Radio 1's Julius O'Riordan will utilise the venue during the daylight hours and in the early evening.

Apparently the Judge this year wants to encourage his audience to "try a different headspace", which could mean a continuation of the breaks-flavoured formula he's currently employing at his eponymous Eden promotion.

Kanya Beach has a license till six in the am.

today diario de ibiza confirms that only san antonio has introduced changes in the closing/opening hours to avoid after-hours (they have to close at 6am and cant reopen till midday, so amnesia wont be able to reopen at 8am like they did once last september):

so only extasis, eden, es paradis, privilege and amnesia will be affected by these changes (if someone wants to open an after-hours at summum in the bay, for example, it belongs to san jose sooooo..... .....).

as you might remember, last year judgement sundays announced on their press release "***New*** for this year is the Judgement Sundays After Party, to be held in the refurbished Garden of Eden next to the club, which will join onto The Funky Room at the end of the night. Our carry on means more hours serious partying than ever before"..... as you might know, this year their press release dont mention any after party due to the changes mentioned above. well, a little cooooo-coo tells me that they plan to continue with them after all..... ..... guess where? yes, summum. apparently the idea is to get free buses to bring clubbers from eden/san antonio -----> vrooooom!! -----> to summum/san jose

Manumission's Bar M have also been busy building a stage to host Ibiza Rocks events on Friday nights. Last year's Baby shambolic finale to their 2005 season gathered them so much tabloid coverage they clearly couldn't resist.

If if the advance publicity is true then the Bar M gigs are unmissable. The July 21 gig in particular will be streets ahead.

the club lola's in sa penya changes of management and from beginning of june it will be run by the guys behind the gay bar soap (just behind lola's).

a little update: even if yesterday it was still open as lola's with house world, it opens as soap tonight!!

my source confirms me that the manu-dudes are doing fridays at privilege. it will be a fusion of ibiza rocks and manumission and it will probably start the first friday of july

So mackie, since you got the streets right, and I can't guess the other 2 (unless k____ is kooks), who are p____ & k_____? Please!!! I'm dying to find out who might be there when I'm out (30th august til 13th August)
