Is it likely Ibiza could open up earlier than end of June then? Or just the plan might be presented earlier than mainland Spain

unless they change some of the rules of the de-escalation programme, I still can't picture this being before 22nd june at the very earliest.

but - it could of course happen that by this date, balearics and canary islands are in the clear whereas other areas of spain are still in a different phase.

end of the article 'if all goes well, from 22nd june onwards'.

Their fault for choosing P.D.B. to live. Same with the thousands of people that live in Sant Jordi and complain about a tiny weeny bit of noise from DC10... how dare they? Jeez, move to Portinatx or something!

(facepalm gif needed again!)
In Portinatx I'm complaining about the Barcelo hotel ?

I guess the curve ball is if the authorities place a restriction on UK visitors, although would that be UK passport holders - or travellers that originate from the UK ?

I've had 3 holidays cancelled for this year so I am tempted to pick up a still quite cheap flight for July and wing it - the downside of course is what restrictions are in place in Ibiza at this time in terms of hotel / restaurants / clubs?? etc

Nobody will be dancing in a nightclub environment for a long time.. have to get real people...ffs ?

I'm on the fence in regards to this. as a first reaction I would also say 'yes of course', but then again I do think the 'long time' will depend massively on the evolution of the pandemic. obviously you saying 'long time' is not very specific neither...

well, exactly places like this are amongst the ones I genuinely could see opening at some point this summer all going well.

Can't believe if life was usual as b4 corona virus, still 2 hours left b4 Dc10 opening ? ?
oh no!OH NO DC10 party! ?
throwback to aug 19 ?‍☠️

Back to real life:While in itlaly restaurants are open, here in France, they wait for the approval from government

Economy crisis in restaurant/Hotel/bar/aeronautical/entertainment(art, movie, nightlife) business (eg Airbus reducing staff y 33%, i heard people from my company had they mission ended with this customer)
some big companies that had dificulties in bankrupt such Alinea (house ornament equipment) , Andre (shoes) ,cheeze companies ...
For people already on dole it will be hard to find a job as more people will be on dole this year(see usa figures ?).

i hope ibz will lower their price for next months/years otherwise lot of people will choose to spend holiday in their own country in order to save/support their local economy

All Transavia flights are cancelled from 21 mars au 25 juin inclus

I bought yesterday a box of 50 surgical masks at Leclerc supermarket for 25€ , i guess they are cheaper reseller in France 50ct/mask ?

This will be our question when the time comes. If Spain won’t allow people originating from UK airports to fly in then we definitely won’t be heading back there at the end of June.

I looked at hotel prices for July last night and I was surprise how expensive they are (same price than last year). Plus, alot of hotels are unbookable...

I would suggest you wait until it's clearer if & when tourism is a 'go'. certainly the majority of hotels is awaiting that and will only ever start to take action once they know what's what

Somehow I missed it - how are they planning to protect the islands from infections brought in by tourists? Are they going to require tests for all arrivals?

Or are they just hoping that by eliminating potential superspreading events (buffets, parties etc.) the situation couldn't escalate quickly, so they would have time to deal with it after the season?

If you wanted to protect an area 100% this would mean you could not possibly start touristic activity until a cure or vaccine is available. not even with doing tests it would be possible to guarantee total safety. and not trying to bring back tourism in some form this summer would mean the end for countless businesses on the islands, period.

I think the current way of thinking is that if you bring in people from an area that hasn't got a bigger % of pandemic growth, the risk isn't actually growing as long as you don't do superspreading events as you say.

We'll also be a lot more clued up on the virus by July/August. I read somewhere at the weekend that 26% of all deaths in the UK were diabetic for example. We are learning about it all the time. Then factor in care home deaths, that is between a quarter and a third off all deaths, then kidney disease 17%...etc etc. Basically 95% of deaths are with pre-existing health conditions or old age. You're not going to risk travelling if you are vulnerable are you....the explosion of the disease at the start was caused by people not knowing any better....
