What's the weather like at the moment?

Who's like me is fed up with this "polvo" lingering for a long time now?
Very hot but I'm starting to miss Ibiza's blue sky!

yeah I'm with you. we've got it all currently. sahara sand, ashes from canada's forest fires and a super high humidity which also affects the visibility.

apart from that, it's very hot too!

We definitely need a good proper rainy day to clear the air and fresh things up a bit.
The sea water is warming up daily though, good news for the "frioleros" about 😂

Ibiza looks to be missing the worst of the heatwave throughout southern Europe - thanks to being an island. windy.com suggests 28c right now 10.20 local time, that's plenty for mid-morning IMO!

The blue sky was shortly back on Friday now we seem to have gone back to that grey layer again, good thing is, there's a bit of wind in town that is making it feel less hot than has been lately.

It's July, the middle of summer and our weather is mild. I read 54 C° for several of the states in the southwest of the United States! These are places I have seriously considered moving to based on the housing market, but for now I'm in a very mild climate.

.... we were in italy at Lake Garda over the weekend, it's a kind of house beach from our home in austria, only 2.5 hours by car. We have never experienced it so hot, even at 22:00 over 30 degrees!

over in mallorca (where the temp always goes higher in summer because of the bigger surface of the island and the big plain land part specifically) the all time balearic record temp has just been broken, 44.8C (not official yet tho)

might still go higher in the next hour or two

I mean I love the heat, but after about ~5 steaming summers in Northern Europe and some 40c days in London last year, I must admit days and days of 21-23c for the last month is pretty refreshing. It was 13c at 7am when I left home today - relativity cold for July.

This is dangerous.

Just noticed that, been reading the Majorcan daily and they reckon it's too hot for tourists and locals, if they can, are heading for cooler parts of Spain (North coast) or even UK, Iceland etc.

Correct that Ibiza cannot be as "bad" due to it only being a small island.

Ironic that the summer season will be much less busy if this trend continues, as people stay away, yet they (Mallorca/Ibiza) refuse to extend the season later or start earlier.

Hey, it's only 24c in Gibraltar - even cooler on the west coast of Portugal!

Note - it's 14.6c in my back garden right now, mid-afternoon in the middle of July. Anyone wanting respite with a tent is welcome to use my front lawn....I charge reasonable rates...!!

This morning at my badminton club, was chatting to a guy who's about to set off for 4 weeks in Cyprus, inland. He doesn't seem that concerned as it's an "Island" but it's 36c inland there too. I suppose they could hit the coast, or go up the mountains for relief, but at this rate no-one will want Mediterranean holidays in mid-summer due to the (now regular) extreme heat.

there is relief due for the Spanish coast (Costas) due to a forecast change ow wind direction, getting temps down to a more usual 28/29c later this week. Still very hot inland though.

Our swimming pool feels like a bath at present.

I honestly can’t recall it being this hot for a prolonged period ever in Ibiza, let alone in mid-July.

Possible to boil eggs in the pool ? Otherwise its fresh
Only last month I was walking barefoot from the pool to my chair, and my feet felt they were being burned on the tiles. Put some oil down and crack an egg, I reckon they would fry! Might even give it a go when no-one's watching!

Thats what happened to me in Bali. At the beach , the sand was hot like hell. Never thought it is possible. Normally Im not a pussy , but this was strange.
