In New orleans, at Ampers And Club, DJ Trashy started spinning Nirvanas-Smells like Teen Spirit.....insane. started the breakbeat in the beginning and then lets the sone run while he mixed through it...really charged the crowd and was just great!

where exactly is Ampers..? is it uptown or down town?! cause the name Dj Trashy rings a bell.. but i cant remember! its been a whiiiiiiiile since the day i left Orleans :( ..

To tell you the honest truth my friend I cant remember. I always catch a cab from The Metro club and its like 4-5am and im gone by that time and im not really paying attention. Metro is in the warehouse district and Ampers isnt far from there. It is somewhere in the Uptown area...Ampers isnt the starting place. You goto Metro and then Ampers opens early morn for after hours...hehe Id have to chk with someone thats been alittle more sober than myself. But it is in Uptown cause i do remember the cab ride being short from Ampers to the hotel.

Another one.. from last summer.

It was Pure Pacha @ about 6'o clock in the morning.

Been on the dance floor for 5 hours straight (only leaving for water and toilet :D ) and was leaving the floor to go chill when the sounds of
Mory Kante - Yeke Yeke (Hard floor remix) pops into my ear.

I turned around and ran back out on the floor.. the build up on this tune is amazing and when it all exploded people went completely bananas!

Now i remember one....

Def Mix @ Pacha back in 2001.
It was 6 or 7am. Music stops for a sec. and the Dj starts :

One more time...

One more time
We gonna celebrate
Oh yeah, all right
Don't stop dancing...

The place was out of control...awesome!!! 8)

Ah I was there that night Holly, great great moment :P :P Can remember me and fifteen of my mates going nuts :P :P

Ya Metro is still there and it attracts a VERY nice crowd. Very clean and I love the feel in there. Just wish everyone in the Metro didnt try to fit in the smaller Ampers club...Metro is 5x the size of Ampers. Oh well....hehe

terrace, summer 2003:
danny rampling was playing benni benassi's satisfaction, then mixed to the oldie from the rolling stones und finally back to benassi's version ... awesome!
it was one of the first times i heard the benassi mix, i think.

Recently: Audio Bullies Shot Me Down, Nastydirtysexmusic, MoS.
Jon Carter, again at Ministry in January, dropping his own Double Drop, a tune I first turned onto last summer at Underwater at Pacha.

Last summer: Skylark's Shout got a huge reaction when Smokin Jo played it in the afternoon at Homelands. Love that tune.

c.1996: Someone (think it was Jon Carter again) sticking on the Stones's Honky Tonk Women at Heavenly Social, Turnmills. As that cowbell came in followed by Keef's guitar, people started ricocheting around the main room.
(In the same spirit, some bloke played Chantilly Lace by the Big Bopper at a squat party off the Walworth Road early in 2002 and the place became a heaving mass of drug-crazed crusties and punks. But it was great, honest.)

1995: Labrynth (not many of you will have been there, I guess). One night in January, every DJ played Keep Comin' - and it caused uproar every time. Hardcore will never die!

1992-4: Most weeks, Whirl-y-gig when it was at Shoreditch Town Hall. Monkey Pilot had a regular playlist that used to include things like Leftfield's Release the Pressure and FSL's Papua New Guinea. But the evening - and the crowd - would peak to Age of Love. As the intro played out, you could look around and everyone - I mean, everyone - was grinning fit to split their faces. Then that jackhammer beat would kick in and all you could see was flailing limbs.
When Oliver played it at the visit of La Troya to Heaven recently I almost had a heart attack.

GC Lotherton Hall 99 at the start (Grace - Not Over Yet) and end (Lizard) of Oakeys set.

The place went right off!!
