So I'm not going to go on about it - lat time - but I'm going to post this set because to me it shows why trance has taken a back seat these days. I read WICs epic report of this year and his grim verdict on trance with a nodding of the head.
Like I've said, when I started clubbing there was really only house, techno at the weekends and STUFF on other nights. We gravitated to music that got us the highest during a limited time period on a Fri/Sat night. We then found out years later (over a BBQ with kids running around) that music was now defined as trance.
Armin VB helped define it more clearly and then killed it with bringing a constant "drop". While i love a big drop like the next person but every f***n track?? (Feel free to educate me more if I'm wrong)
This set harks back to what started it all for me... uplifting trance. The vibe just going higher and higher. The last track from 55.00 sums it up.
I've had nights end when the DJ stopped, the lights would come on and I'd have no idea where I was for perhaps 5 mins.... Alpha Centauri??
