Weekend rundowns

Can't beleive its Monday again

Fri - Quiet night in watching BB eviction - poor Nikki

Sat - Few hours in the office in the morning then spent the afternoon in a car showroom getting a new car. Evening - pre club food and drinks with my friends at mine then went to City Cafe before going to Pukka Up/Progression. Had a great night and it went sooooooo fast. Was a beautiful morning when we got home 8)

Sun - After a couple of hours kip decided we should all go to South Queensferry for some Fish n Chips and a pint of coke at the Hawes Inn - fantastic day and had a wander around the high street. Then discovered loads of randoms on my digi cam from previous night - what was that all about:?:  Early to bed but could not sleep cause of the heat.

All in all a nice weekend but can't wait for Global

Had a long long weekend that culminated in me getting 12 hours of sleep last night in a bid to recover. Felt great as I'd been sleeping an average of 4 hours a day over the past couple weeks....

Wed. - Went to see Stereo MCs at a bar called 16 Tons. OH MY GOD was that a fun show! I'd forgotten how catchy these guys' tunes are. What the show lacked in live performance (they were basically the singer, a drummer, DJ, backup singers, sound engineer) it made up for in energy. The lead singer was all over the place as they played a mix of older tunes (mostly from the album "Connected") and some new material.

Thurs. - During the last couple of hours of work I could listen to the sounds of a "gala concert" in honor of the G8 summit, held at Red Square across the river from my office. Notables included Liz from Atomic Kitten, Ja Rule, and some well-known Russian bands. The headliners were to come later on (incl. Darren Hayes, who replaced Craig David) but I went to a friend's bachelor party instead - basically a nice steak dinner and a strip club.

Friday - Attended a reception held by the Austrian embassy's press attache. Went home for a change of clothes. Then the missus and I attended a birthday party for top local DJ Ivan Roudyk where Spanish duo Simon & Shaker played a very good set. Started fading early after getting little sleep the past week so we went home at 4.

Saturday - Dragged my tired butt out of bed at 10 to get ready for my friend's wedding ceremony at 11am. Various events conspired to force us into waiting 3 hours for a 10-minute ceremony at the registry office. Everyone else went off to do the traditional wedding photos at various monuments but I went home for a short nap and to pick up the missus for the reception.

Great wedding reception, of which the highlight was a song and dance performance by a group of Gypsies. Yummy Georgian food and fun mix of people (mostly Russians and New Zealanders, with an Aussie or two thrown in for good measure)

Dropped the missus off home before 2 and headed to the grand re-opening of club First. It's still a crap club full of people wanting to stare at each other. Boring. Had to cheer myself up afterwards by heading to club Mix for afterhours where some DJ I hadn't seen before played an absolute blinder of a techno/tech-house set (think DC10 level... seriously).

Sunday - Woke up at 3pm feeling very wrong (14 hours of drinking vodka, beer, wine and champagne WILL hurt you). Went shopping for food while trying not to be sick. Made burritos and felt better. Fell asleep very early.

i think, perhaps, you may be missing the joke somewhat!!:?

I thought the current Mrs Sun was charging Marky for *ahem* changing lanes without indicating, as it were.

Saturday up at 5am 8O to get the Eurostar to Paris, I can't believe I've lived in London for 7 years and never been on it - it's just so civilised and easy, one minute you're in London the next you're in Paris  The journey went in no time due to a few g n ts for breakfast and endless games of Top Trumps (mine and Tom's new fave game  ) so we were in Paris by late morning. Took a short walk to the hotel, great hotel in fab location (thanks for the recommendation Grego ;) ) which was very Soho-ish (well every other shop sold poppers so I was most at home  )

Checked in and walked up to the Sacre Coeur and had lunch and wines up there in the gorgeous sunshine, then explored the area a bit.

Saturday evening we had booked a table @ Georges which is on top of the Pompidou Centre - WOW 8O Dining al fresco with the most amazing views of Paris and out of this world food and wine :D We left there and went to a strip club  and got a lap dance  Left there very late and very drunk so didn't emerge from our cave til lunchtime Sunday doing my best Gollum 'wwwaaaaaaaaaattttttterrrr' impression  Had breakfast in bed and then walked down to the Eiffel Tower and saw the sites. Paris was sooooooooo hot, the temperature boards were showing 40 degrees in the afternoon so we went on a boat road down the Seine to try and cool off a bit. Then went down the Champs Elysees and had a late lunch.

Sunday evening we explored some of the Opera area, stopping off at cafe bars for a few vinos and then had a late dinner and cocktails.

Monday was our 7 year anniversary (Happy Anniversary to us :D  ) so we had a special anniversary breakfast and then explored the shops - found what must be the French equivalents to Selfridges and Harvey Nicks so I bought half the Lancombe counter and Tom got a couple of vests.

Finished off our trip with lunch and a few beers at a French/African restaurant and then got Eurostar back to London feeling all relaxed and rejuviernated..........to arrive @ Waterloo in the middle of rush-hour with a full-blown station evacutation and chaos on the streets - welcome home to good old London

Lovely anniversary weekend :D

All major change around at the weekend.

Fri - apart from holidays this was my first Friday night off in over 4 years. 8O Visited other disco bars in town and met and talked to various DJ's I haven't seen for a while. Went home early as nightclubs are rubbish on Fridays.

Sat - stayed in most of the day then went for a short cycle ride. Went to my former residency with my Invoice for final settlement (paid in full :D ). Surprisingly my former boss had completely changed her attitude and was very pleasant with me. She has a new DJ whose rubbish but works for peanuts.....and can't mix to save his life , maybe she's just realised what she's lost . She had a WKD special promotion on as well as 2 doorstaff! Must of listened finally! So what happened the last 6-8 months? That was part of the reason why I left. No fun, no buzz, boring, boring, boring. :?

Went to my new residency and started at 10pm within minutes had people on the dancefloor and from then on it was never empty til 2.30am!! :p Excellent night and my new boss was very impressed with my mixing skills, 8) but said it was 'too dancy', wants more oldies thru the decades. :? Just needs minor tweaking. But at least, no more hard house or cheesy crap!!!! 8O Yeeeeeeeeeesssssss, result!! :p

Sun - did a 4 mile run with my mate in the scorching heat! 8O Drank gallons of water. Went off to my other residency and had another great night, played some wicked speaker bustin' electro house  as well as the usual fodder.

I'm usually aversed to these touristy boat ride things but Irina and I got talked into taking one by our hotel concierge when we were in Paris in May and really enjoyed it. It was dirt cheap too.. something like 7 euros each. Nice to get out on the river, see the city from a different angle, feel the breeze, etc.

Fri - got our new Washer/Dryer delivered (wedding pressie from my mum) and as its the Glasgow Fair weekend, I got away early from work :). Quiet nite in with a couple of beers, watching the annoying Nikki getting booted from BB.

Sat - its my mates 30th this week, his missus' birthday on the saturday and her pals was the week before so it was up to his for a BBQ (Laura was away for her hen night).

Got there around 4:30 - immediately started on the beer. I had asked if he wanted me to take my records (he assured me that decks would be there) - forgot my headphones and there were no decks.

After around 1-2 hours with the food bbqing and the drink flowing, the decks arrived. the supplier started on them but left a record running and didn't come back so i took over.

3 hours later (or thereabouts) i'm still there 8O

my mate told me that there was someone out the back wanting a shot. i told him that as soon as someone came in they could take over. 1 guy did take a couple of turns on the decks but basically i dj-ed for about 4 hours and loved it (i might have caught back the bug)

headed to the arches cafe bar later on and it was a good night in there (although i lost my sunglasses) and despite the live act of 3 young ladies warbling over a backing track (abysmal)

laura and some of the girls met us outside there and we all went back to our flat. although we had little beer left in the house i made up for it with copious amounts of chips and cheese.

sun - after 3 8O hours sleep i played golf (poor poor stuff) and laura and i spent the day relaxing.

mon - a nice lunch with mum and laura before getting a new pair of the Nike + Moire trainers and some new bathroom scales with some wedding gift vouchers. over to lauras mum and dads for a quick chat and a beer!

now back at work :(:(:(:(
