Weekend Rundowns

Last weekend in Scotland before heading off to Ibiza, so the key was meant to be saving money.

Friday: Big Brother and a bottle of rose

Saturday: Body Pump, then haridresser, but turned up an hour late for my appointment by accident so couldn't get the colour done, and it has to wait until Tuesday now.
Headed out for a few vinos with friends just to the Opal Lounge in town, home and in bed fairly early

Sunday: Thought we'd go on a magical mystery tour in the car. Our garden's being done just now, and we have a skip in our parking sapce, so MrB's car is parked in another street. Some (unt decided that we're not allowed to park there so punctured his tyre - cue a £410 bill (both back tyres needed replaced) Put a downer on the day, so we went and bought a bottle of wine and sat out in our building site back garden instead

Here's hoping next weekend's better 8)

Where abouts in Edinburgh do you stay, Bella? Parking's a bit of a nightmare there.

I'm a Colinton girl myself.

We're in Corstorphine - luckily we have two parking spaces, but with one out of use just now it's a bit of a nightmare

Fri: went to Carphone to Order new phone. 12months half price line rental for 500mins Xnetwork. 1st 3 months off bill, next 9 via cashback.. :?

went had my "procedure". 8)

popped round mates who's a bit of a geek, "lets check out yr phone".
on inspection, there was no battery... not impressed. looked online for Mobile Sat Nav... found that i could get phone on same network WITH FREE Sat nav worth £200. :? for same monthly price that i had got earlier... felt robbed. went back to Carphone to cancel, only to be told i couldnt simply change my mind cos i didnt take out "insurance", to which i pointed out 3's 14 Day returns policy for any reason. got refund, and ordered phone online from other place. :D

Sat: Sanchez. Strange Crowd, set was ok, but have been to better bit up and down, didnt flow as nice as the last one. took ages to get myself going, but didnt really go far. found robo at 5.30am...left at 6am. (not cos of Robo!).

Sun: Zzzzzzzzzz.....

to watch Didier Drogba prove ALL the haters wrong

Still think he's rubbish ;)

thurs: Serious party at Turnmills was very good. Not a huge trance fan, specially all night long, but Godzilla's set was the best again.
fri:stayed in
Saturday: Went to Dusted at Egg. It was my second time there and it was quiet at the start, but got busy by midnight or so.. MYNC were superb, I didnt move from the twisted room from 12 till 3. Straight off to catch Seamus Haji's final hour in the Dusted room. He continued where MYNC had left off. Really good electro music, if maybe he chose a few too many obvious tracks. Saw a bit of Tania von Pear too who was good too, very energetic and good to watch

Off to Formulate for afters where I bumped into the lovely MB and LJ. Hope it went well on sunday!! 8) Sorry for not seeing you later at Key, I had to leave earlyish.

Sun: Won tickets for The Island Premiere in Leicester Sq thanks to Ministry of Sound Radio, so in a slightly spaced out and tired state headed to rub shoulders with Ewan McGregor and Scarlet Johansen ;)
Film was good, but not brilliant, or maybe I was too tired to enjoy it properly

God what a wkend  For various reasons wanted/needed a nice chilled one.

Fri - went over to Jamies, went out for a civilised Viatenemese, home for 10pm, watched Big Brother and slept.

Sat - me and Jamie went to Yello in Hoxton Square, then a couple of cocktails, home for 11pm, sight of the wkend was Jamie watching film and me reading my book on sofa on a Saturday night 8O

Sun - breakfast, read the papers and then me and Jamie had nice civilised day round Hoxton looking round shops, gallery 8O, bite to eat and a few civilised drinks. On the way back to his we stop at the Bagel Shop on Brick Lane where either my purse was stolen/lost from my back pocket. Didn't realise til we got back to Jamies, cue Jamie running the streets trying to retrace our steps, me on the phone trying to cancel my cards, absolute f***ing nightmare. Every single card etc I own is in my purse, am presently trying to cancel everything, I've phoned police to report it and they say I've got to go into police station to report it to fill in forms and I'm stuck at home without a penny to my name and no way of getting out

So the rest of the wkend was nice and civilised but a completely shit end to it

Really sorry to hear that, Babs. Losing the cards in all is a royal pain.
Hope you get it all straightened out soon enough.

I'm sat here crying trying to remember everything that needs to be cancelled. I did my main credit card and debit card last night but stupidly I carry everything else in my purse so there's Oyster card, store cards, driving licence, you name it

Friday night had pizza round a mates house and played poker....
left a fair bit richer than i arrived

came home and played a few hours on the internet and brought my earnings for the week up to nice amount

saturday did thrills for the first time in ages...we went to Pacha London for Defected
highlight was defo Mr East's set

Sunday we went to innocent smoothie festival in regents park which was fantastic
glad i had a thrill in my pocket coz they had a dance tent and it was kickin off and i just had to join in

splendid weekend and have still got more money in my pocket than i had when i went out on Friday night

and now since i dont have a job i can just relax and smoke big uns until my head clears

I do the same thing.... my wallet's packed. Sometimes I remember to leave one credit card at home in case of emergency, but not always. The worst is losing all your restaurant and store discount cards and nightclub cards because they won't give you new ones!

One time I lost my wallet in St Petersburg (when I still lived in Kazakhstan) and had to board a train to Moscow penniless and then wait for my parents to Western Union me some cash. Not fun.

Sorry to hear about that Barbie. MrB had his wallet stolen last month and it was a complete nightmare. I now keep a credit card at home, and a list of everything I have in my wallet just in case.

i have all my cards registered so i can cancel them all with just one phone call

never stupid enough to take them all out at the same time tho

And it's one stupid viscious circle, I need to go into police station to report everything but I've got no Oyster card or money to go out and I've reported it to my insurance company but they can't do anything til I've got a crime reference number and I can only get that by going to the police station

I wouldn't say it's particularly stupid to carry a visa card and cash card, I'd been shopping so would automatically take all other cards, I need an Oyster card to get from a to b and always carry my driving licence even tho I don't drive as a means of identification

It's usually not a case of stupidity... in my case, my wife found the card I set aside in the hotel room.... and put it back in my wallet the morning it was stolen!! 8O

Sometimes you don't know what kind of purchase you're going to make and you use different cards for different things (keeping that budget balanced), thus you end up carrying all of them.

Sat nite - off to the Arches for Colours Summer party. Disappointed right at the start with the notice that Lawler had cancelled (apparently due to illness and he missed Dance Valley too, anyone confirm?)

Fantastic night :D For one reason or another, was the first time I have seen Sasha, I am a convert, he was amazing, music right up my street :D

Was stuck in the Hed Kandi arch at the start until the doors were opened and Paolo Mojo was unleashed - now that was more like it, from there kicked off one of my best nights in the arches for a long time. Was like days of old I thought. Nice atmosphere and crowd, from those I was talking to. Think I heard one failed attempt at 'Here we' not that it ever bothers me anyway! And just a handful of 'shirts n boots and fluffy boots' feeling that the majority were 'just like me'.

Was a bit concerned on how enthusiastic Sasha would be, but he was right up for it and kept us going too. Him and Mojo behind the decks were fantastic - talk about zebedee's

Made all the better when the light weights filtered out at 3 and the rest of us were still begging for more come 5 - can't say much more than WOW!!
