temporarilytrue. I think the problem is when you're super stressed. a good wine really does take the edge off.

Last weekend we went to Wales to “open up” the caravan. I think it’s going to be the last year of it as my mother in law has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and she won’t get the use out of it now; it’s her caravan and she pays the fees. But, there is still some value in it as it has 7 years left on site so it’s sensible to sell now before it plummets to zero value. So, making the most of it this year and getting there as much as possible. No pub was entered at all during last weekend trip. Had some nice wine and food with the heating on.
This weekend-
Fri - went for a free afternoon meal as a result of a complaint i made from a previous visit to Ego at Lymm. I’m generally not a complainer but the original meal and service was shocking. Anyway they upped their game and it was okay.
I then went to the local early evening to meet my youngest and her boyfriend. Home for 8
Sat - going for walk today with eldest, possibly Delamere Forrest, quick pint, back home for a fakeaway.
Sun - wash car, tidy up garden a bit, salad for dinner.
rock n roll
Been at a conference in Leeds for the weekend, normal learning and networking
Berlin Dj Cinthie playing house music 5mins from my hotel, free entrance tonight at Distrikt. Hoping to persuade at least one work colleague to go
Sunday - home to tell lad that we are going Disney in 2 weeks because he's been good/his mother wants to go there and Paris![]()
if you want a nice steak dinner, I recommend DarwinsDublin this coming weekend for me and mrs - my first time in Ireland. Anybody any tips that aren't Guinness factory or Temple Bar (which we'll probably avoid anyway!!)
Heading to Glasgow on Saturday to watch Spiritualized play Pure Phase (30th anniversary!) in full. Sit down show in a theatre, but should be fine given how smacky much of that album is.![]()
Book of Kells is awesome.Dublin this coming weekend for me and mrs - my first time in Ireland. Anybody any tips that aren't Guinness factory or Temple Bar (which we'll probably avoid anyway!!)
oooh, enjoy! Saw them live here a few years back. It was good but some of the newer stuff was perhaps a bit too 'gospel' for me. Actually preferred Pete Kember's Sonic Boom drone performance which was super dark and trippy and unexpectedly emotional. If you haven't yet read it, the Will Carruthers book is a really good read about their roots in the East Midlands and all the chaos and heroin of the early years.
