Weekend Plans

After last weeks stag do in Manchester, I can't wait for normal one this weekend.

Friday - away from desk at 3 for pizza and Arsenal with the main men. One weekend away really makes you think about them them growing up and how joyous these small experiences are.

Saturday - Kids to my folks in the morning, top of the table clash at footy in the afternoon. Didn't make footy training Tuesday due to work after a heavy (for me these days) weekend, might be sensible to start on the bench....

Sunday - kids' rugby in the morning, watch Arsenal Chelsea in the afternoon

Everyone's different of course... I have this inner brake which stops me crossing a certain threshold. No idea why that is, but not complaining. Tomorrow, some dj mates are playing at a local community centre and the drinks will flow all day but it will be paced out with a load of food on top. I think that's the best way to do it. Ooh, check me out, all posh and continental, like!

Quiet weekend ahead for me, which I'm excited about after the chaos of the last few.

Friday - Taking dog to the groomers shortly after a 10k run. Then might go on the decks, need to record a mix for an event I played a few months ago.

Saturday - Park Run, then catching up with a friend and going for dinner

Sunday - Roast and a market.

Friday - monthly meet-up of a German frequent flyer forum, at an Arabic restaurant this time.
Saturday - monthly "Technoclub" trance party at the MTW club here near Frankfurt
Sunday - rehab/housekeeping/TBD

I wanted to fly to someplace warm and pollen free on the weekend, but found no good last minute tickets. There is a silver lining though - while browsing for tickets, I discovered a 90€ return ticket to Ibiza for a weekend in mid-May - booked!

Last weekend we went to Wales to “open up” the caravan. I think it’s going to be the last year of it as my mother in law has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and she won’t get the use out of it now; it’s her caravan and she pays the fees. But, there is still some value in it as it has 7 years left on site so it’s sensible to sell now before it plummets to zero value. So, making the most of it this year and getting there as much as possible. No pub was entered at all during last weekend trip. Had some nice wine and food with the heating on.

This weekend-
Fri - went for a free afternoon meal as a result of a complaint i made from a previous visit to Ego at Lymm. I’m generally not a complainer but the original meal and service was shocking. Anyway they upped their game and it was okay.
I then went to the local early evening to meet my youngest and her boyfriend. Home for 8
Sat - going for walk today with eldest, possibly Delamere Forrest, quick pint, back home for a fakeaway.
Sun - wash car, tidy up garden a bit, salad for dinner.

rock n roll

Been at a conference in Leeds for the weekend, normal learning and networking 🍷
Berlin Dj Cinthie playing house music 5mins from my hotel, free entrance tonight at Distrikt. Hoping to persuade at least one work colleague to go 🤞

Sunday - home to tell lad that we are going Disney in 2 weeks because he's been good/his mother wants to go there and Paris 😊

was actually helping my Mum plan a trip to Paris yesterday. we worked out it was way cheaper to fly than get the train. that's so wrong

looking fwd to my trip to Mallorca in a couple of weeks. Hope the weather's better than it's been here in recent weeks. heating on in March. WTF!!

Heading to Glasgow on Saturday to watch Spiritualized play Pure Phase (30th anniversary!) in full. Sit down show in a theatre, but should be fine given how smacky much of that album is.

oooh, enjoy! Saw them live here a few years back. It was good but some of the newer stuff was perhaps a bit too 'gospel' for me. Actually preferred Pete Kember's Sonic Boom drone performance which was super dark and trippy and unexpectedly emotional. If you haven't yet read it, the Will Carruthers book is a really good read about their roots in the East Midlands and all the chaos and heroin of the early years.

This will be the third time I've seen them; will be interesting to see what the band set up is like for these dates. I will have a gander at the book...
