Weekend Plans

Not a lot going on this weekend really.

Saturday is a group walk with Mr Dog, let him off the lead to run round like a nutcase with some dog based friends. Wales v Scotland at 4.30- had looked at going up and down in a day, but the flight prices jumped up annoyingly.

Then Sunday, I really should get started on my MBA final dissertation thingy. Want to get it cracked through as soon as possible really, ideally before Glastonbury, but have to do some research which involves talking to real people, eugh. 8,000 words of absolute balls needed- 100 words a day between now and Worthy Farm- sounds easy, right? RIGHT.........?!

After a heavy last weekend... my Birthday weekend incoming! Off to Hackney Church on Saturday for Franky Wah, cant wait 😍 Has anyone been to a gig there?
Happy birthday!

Hackney Church? One visit in the early 2000s, shared a cab down there from with Leroy Thornhill, after he'd followed my pretending to DJ at Turnmills. At the church, a pre-re-re-retirement and dodgy politics/pyramid selling Rampling had a spat with the bouncers when the bouncers pulled the plug on him at closing time. I had a flirt-off with Jackie from Grange Hill outside afterwards. Great days.

Remembered a bit more of this now, it was Boxing Day and rhe Turnmills flyer featured Brandon and Alex, who in main room in full boxing gear in a ring.

The night was dead as a doornail, and I recall our departure for fun elsewhere was noted by my schoolmate who owned and ran the club

Sat - son plays in a u7 quarter final in morning.
Back to watching Burnley this weekend after being mostly house bound for 8 day. Trying to grab a spare ticket in my stand for the lad. Meet Mrs in a local pub for tea.

Looked at another potential rental yesterday, offer in but 7 others submitting final offers. Find out tomorrow.

Rest of weekend researching holidays. Booking bits for Paris/Disney and BurningMan

Was going to be doing nothing but last night's "couple of drinks after work and home by 6pm" ended up as "home at 11:30pm with buying tickets at some point for Ben Hemsley" tonight.

Not been to Underground before so there's that.
Decent venue in my book. Like a mini Printworks but with lower ceilings. Lockers are a bit of a pain in the arse as you need data coverage to get into them which is patchy, but the beer is Lost and Grounded.

Edit: And I’ve just realised you posted this yesterday…..

Went for a walk along the beach near my house today and found this agate! I thought it was cool anyway 😂😂😂

Enjoyed it and thought it sounded cleaner than Motion. Impressed with the setup. Had a good night but ache now. Need to complete my pre season training for Ibiza 😃

a bit off topic, but...

I did dry january, but here in spain it's almost impossible to start with that until the 6th january since that's the last day of the xmas festivities, so in reality my dry time started on 7th jan. and I've taken it into february and I'm currently still in complete teetotal mode. I had done this various times before (as in stopping to drink any alcohol for periods of time), and I don't know if it's because I'm much more sensitive in regards to how my body feels now, or the fact I get older, or the fact my job is now a physical one...to be honest, it's probably a combination of all of that, but boy after a few weeks you do feel a difference eh? I sleep much better (I'm also better rested, even if I have nights with little sleep), I don't have any morning fog lingering in my brain and I am certainly much more focused.

I am sure that once the temperatures start going up again and we head into the season, casual cold beers and wine will slowly come back - I also happily admit that I love both beer and wine too much to simply forfeit it for the rest of my life, but wow, it really makes a difference if you cut off alcohol for a while.

So to join the off topic-ness, I went for nearly 3 months from early Nov to mid January tee total. It did me the world of good mentally and physically! I definitely notice it at the moment now I'm drinking again
