Weekend Plans

Only got back from Morocco yesterday. Brilliant holiday, but I love home and our life, so can't wait for a 'normal' weekend!

Friday - pizza and Arsenal with the kids

Saturday - kids to my folks in the morning, restart my footy drive to glory in the afternoon. My have to bench myself after 2 weeks all inclusive:lol:

Sunday - kids rugby in the morning. Hopefully Arsenal arrest their recent dip in form in the afternoon and put Man U to the sword in the FA Cup

All change - footy called off due to frozen pitches, so we are off to the flicks to see Mufasa, The Lion King.*
If as expected, kids' rugby is called off for morning, we'll be off to the Paddington Experienceat Southbank.

*I'm taking the family, not the footy lads:lol:

Weekend ahoy. Sombre start, leaving desk at noon for a good friend's Mum's funeral. She died suddenly on Boxing Day, 5 days after he'd had a heart attack while doing a half marathon (he's my age:()

Only one of the my two boys at Arsenal and pizza Friday night as the other is at a birthday party.

Up early for cake and presents on Saturday as the eldest is 12:eek:! In the afternoon, the Mrs is taking both boys to her Mum's and I've got a quarter final.

Sunday - kids rugby match, then more cake and presents at my folks, then whatever the birthday boy fancies. (No party this year, he's taking his best mate (with Mothers) to see Matilda at the Theatre, with a nice lunch out before, in a couple of weeks, instead.

Did the Haribo shop earlier, so he can give them out a) at school, b) at Arsenal, and c) at rugny. Some presents already here, others relying on Amazon Prime tomorrow.

Weekend started Wednesday with a 6hr drive to Plymouth to watch football. Had a great apartment in town, decent result and pubs were full of students and people we knew from our way. Hard driving home

Fri - on a plane to Krakow with Mrs for a friend's 40th. 10 mainly couples. On our own first night. Going to Zakopane spa for the evening, looks a nice outdoors setting with a dj on.

Sat - drinks

Sun - salt mines and mate's birthday meal.

Hopefully fit alot of culture, history and drinking in 😁

Getting a weather forecast suddenly packed with all kinds of hazard warnings is the surest sign the weekend is approaching. We're in for a bomb cyclone on the west coast of Norway. It will hit us tomorrow.

But this evening was the annual commemoration (outdoor multi-media show) of the fire than burned the entire center of town (850 buildings) to the ground. This was in 1904, during a storm/hurricane, where the wind made it impossible to stop the fire. People around here are therefore weary of storms this time of year.

Tomorrow the winds will be too strong for any outdoor activities. But there's an indoor literature festival. I'll be attending the talk about the remnants of the long forgotten Portugese empire.

I've got a surfing holiday in Morocco coming up, and need to get in shape. It's a mid-life crisis thing. This means hitting the gym both Saturday and Sunday. My pop-ups are improving.

My weekend is already made, having being sent the Veo footage of youngest's rugby game last Sunday.

Watch the little lunatic in the sports glasses from 31 mins and from 49:30 😍
