Weekend Plans

Friday - sister's surprise 40th at a cocktail bar in town. Hopefully won't going on too long afterwards

Saturday - meet for a stag do in Liverpool at 10am. No organised fun planned, just get smashed with the same group of lads I've knocked around with from primary age, school, college.... Basically 30 years some of them 🥴

Sunday - latest possible booking got a mother's day meal with Mrs and lad


Next weekend.... 🤩

Yeah, I've never seen them live, so looking forward to it. Was a bit surprised to be notified that half the venue is going to be shut off - it's obviously not sold that well.

I'm going to a psychedelic music festival here on the hill next weekend. the main act Pete Kember used to be in Spacemen 3. He now performs as Sonic Boom. (The Will Carruthers book about the origins of Spacemen 3 and the descent into smack is amazing btw) Saw Sonic Boom here a few years back. he specialises in these intense drone sequences, which are hard to accurately describe. I had no real idea what to expect beforehand but it somehow released these endorphins and I felt strangely euphoric and even emotional despite not having had anything more than a few Estrellas.
 
On my way to Dubai as we speak. Straight into work bits on Friday but someone sent me the flyer for Peggy Gou at Soho Beach so a night out Saturday might be on the cards 🤷🏻‍♀️

Then the in-laws are doing a layover in DXB on their way back from the Maldives (🙄) so will meet with them on Sunday.

Planning to get the tan game up as Ibiza hasn’t exactly been weather-friendly recently and it’s birthday week for M and I from the 4th so hoping it sorts itself out before I’m back!
 
Weekend ahoy!

Last night - went to see The Batman. Someone how, Vue managed to start the film without trailers or adverts, so we missed the first 10 mins! Then the screen broke down and was off for 10 mins mid film! Just nice to get out for a bit on a week night though!

Friday - 4pm meet with my boy outside Arsenal for his 5pm session there. Home for sleepover in the cloud
Saturday - Eldest's guitar lesson in the morning then I've got a top of the league double header, both must-win games. (For the uninitiated, in amatuer football, if cancelled fixtures or cup runs mean you have a fixture pile up towards the end of the season, you play some home and awat games at the same venue on the same day. So instead of 2 90 mins games at different venues on different days, you play 2 hour long games back to back on the same day)

Sunday - Take the kids to my folks and give my Mum Mother's Day presents, then I've got lunch booked to take the wife and kids out for the same, and then I've me and the kids booked into soft play so she can have a long soak in the bath at home.

Off to that there London to meet the old man and go to the rugby at the Spurs ground. Cracking stadium, looking forward to going back. After that, and he's gone back to the fatherlands, not sure what to do. Could stick around London if theres anything much on, or might just jump on train back. As the other half is away, I might just leave it super last minute to decide

Its a decent gaff, i venture there spontaneously quite often. Theyve put random tiny raised areas in this year in random places in whats already a small area, more of a hindrance imo... a good tip is to try get a swim in the gap where the left of the bar ends and the dj booth is. Loud and a nice fan on you

It's run by JBM who over the last 2 years have put lots of festivals and nights on, especially in the NW.

Pretty certain they got Darius Syrossian in to help redesign the night club part of it over the last year or so. His Moxy residency looks good each month.
