Weekend Plans

The sun's out, I'll be off down to Arsenal to meet my boy for his Arsenal session in an hour or so....got a really good course I'm doing tomorrow that I'm looking forward to. Not even missing playing football as my game was postponed.

Then Sunday, while my eldest is at birthday party in Soho, I'm taking my youngest to the London Transport Museum - I'm really looking forward to it!

Saturday - mate invited me to watch the sunrise on Pendle Hill, he got on it last night & didn't trap at 5am 🙄😁 Nice views with the sunrising on one side and the full moon in the other. Been on the park with my son and now heading to Hebden Bridge for an afternoon of food/drink in a quirky town in the hills.

Sunday - Ice Cream Farm in Cheshire. Does what it says on the tin + loads of kids activities, diggers etc

Looking forward to a clear head Monday 😅

Given that we literally have a land border with Russia, I thought I'd check out what could function as an air raid shelter within a 15 min walk from where I live.

These are, unironically, German WW2 ammunition tunnels. They are in surprisingly good condition.

This is apparently an anti-aircraft gun position - from 1943.

Same tunnel system, just another entrance.

Spring is coming.

The first weekend that it has been warm and sunny enough for pleasant motorcycling here so I rode out to Tillingham on the south coast on my Tuono. Am absolutely knackered now as the bike is an exhilarating but not always comfortable experience.

Is Hebden Bridge still as nuts as it always was? I am originally from not far from there but haven't been for more than 20 years.

Yes and no. Its a hip place now but still very Liberal. People in tie-dye/dogs on strings dancing in the street to buskers right through to city types in for the day. Wide range of independent places to eat/drink and The Traders Club is still attracting names which it shouldn't for a social club 👏👏👏 Usually not far from someone smoking a joint

We go pretty often as its just 15mins over the border on the train or walkable in 4hrs over the moors via the Blue Pig at Midgehole🍻

where exactly is that if you don't mind me asking?
did you go into the tunnels?
It's on the top of the hill called Aksla, which is in the center of Ålesund.

I've been inside. There is a turn in the tunnel before you get to a large room with concrete walls and floor. I guess that's where the ammo was stored. There are also numerous other box-like structures there as well, with look-out places over the sea.

I can't be left unsupervised. Lol got absolutely hammered last night, wound up clubbing for the first time in forever. Was a good night, paid for it dearly this morning. Took a solid nap this afternoon and feel human again.

Back at it this evening tho, found some pappy!
