At the Boutique and others at the Concorde in Brighton (UK) it's a bit higher - 60/40 perhaps.
LCD Soundsystem were tops in both locations. I think a lot of it depends on the expectations of the audience - oodles of booze helps.
yeah I think some should take a leaf out of Bob Marleys book and chill out, talk of not going Ibiza is a little extreme I think.
The rock night at Privlidge worked really well cos Privlidge was not doing to great on other nights apart from Monday and Wednesday (so I heard)
As for space I'm sure they will not mess with the terrace atmosphere which is built up, the live act's could go on eralier, or even in another room as space has so many.

If the promoter of such events feel live music or other types of music would be attractive to the punters then he would look into it.
likewise, at a live rock gig or a night of flamenco or at classical opera, the organiser is only going to use music that will be attractive to the audience. ergo, no 'monotonous dance music' at folk music gigs.
I feel the issue of this thread is whether different music styles can be fused together successfully. its a difficult one cos in the case of rock and house music, the chances of success are far greater with a mainly house crowd than with a mainly rock crowd.

New to the board, hello 
IMO Space is a massive venue that wouldn't go down the pan if a band played one of the rooms. Look at Ibiza Rocks last year that was ridiculously poular, the Kaiser Cheifs gig was sold out about 4 days before, so it seems to be what the punters want? I don't think its going to go downhill into a big rock-fest, but it is nice to have a bit of variety. That's my 2ps worth anyway
