*** We Love... Space 2013 ***

My personal opinion is that We Love have been hit hard by the competition in recent years - Ushuaia especially. The increasingly later start times reflect this. They've had to adapt to survive. Sure, the headline acts maybe more mainstream (although I would still be cautious in labelling them "commercial"), but these are ultimately acts that are going to appeal to a larger market and pull the crowd. If you look at the undercard there is still a glittering array of underground talent, so in my book there's something for everyone.

As far as the tickets go would anyone recommend the before 9pm entry ones? I'm not sure i want to be in there that early and if you do get them i assume there are no pass outs? Last time i went to We Love properly it was still the afternoon

exactly, no passouts on the early entry tickets.

the vibe starts picking up from about 9-10pm onwards. you may have to wait a little until the party is in full swing, but on the other hand it's nice to see the sunset terrace in daylight! also love premier etage to have a drink and get into the mood for a manic night later on ;)

Pass out available with normal tickets? And how do they work if so?

with a full price ticket you get one passout, but to receive this, you have to enter before 9pm for the first time. you can then leave once and come back.

We Love... Bring The Music to Space Ibiza 2013

We Love has long been a favourite party amongst the Spotlight clubbing team, thanks to a winning formula of quality and eclecticism. Tempting though it may be for such a well-loved institution in Ibiza to rest on its music policy laurels, the heads behind We Love are having none of that, and continue roll out new plans which distinguish the iconic brand as a “true musical vanguard of the island.”

Disclosure Play We Love ...

The folks at We Love… Space Ibiza have a little treat for us next Sunday. Perhaps you can guess: two brothers, bringing the sounds of garage pop back into the charts, debut album out last week, not even legal drinking age in the US. It's the most famous face scribbles on the planet right now, Disclosure.

These lads have lost all my respect after their 'Guetta' and 'SHM' type performance at Wembley Stadium in London the weekend just gone.

Actually, just being included in the line up for the 'capital fm summertime ball' is a joke in itself.

Just have a look at the company they were keeping on stage at this event:

The Wanted
Ellie Goulding
Eliza Doolitle
AlunaGeorge
Psy
Rizzle Kicks
Lawson ft B.o.B
James Arthur
Loveable Rogues
Naughty Boy
The Saturdays
Olly Murs
Duke Dumont !!(another surprise)
Union J
Jessie J
Rudimental
Will.i.am
Taylor Swift
Ed Sheerin
Robbie Williams

God give me strength!

Sorry lads, but you've sold your soul's out to the pop world. I really thought things were looking promising for them.

Might as well call them the English House Mafia.

Had enough of this pop industry type nonsense now.

Rant over!!!!

Hey fuzzy you have to face it, they make pop music! It is not really that underground like other acts. Even by those standards they are good.. Aluna george are not that bad either!

Side question:

Does anyone know where disclosure are playing , other than we love opening and enter in july 25???

I am going to check their website but I ask if anyone know other dates. - point in case, I do not think they have "sold out".

I checked !

They are also playing at bomba in july 13 or so for defected night!

Should be interesting, IF bomba actually even open!

Yeah, but i feel better after letting that all go!

To be fair they were forced into it due to the whole logistics of them playing live.

They are actually quite decent live, lets not judge them on a commercial event, and base them on a performance when they can do their own thing. Looking forward to seeing what they do in Space.

Exactly. It never ceases to amaze me that people will blame the bands/musicians, but never the event organisers/promoters for these kind of things - they are the people who ultimately make the decision. It's the same with the majority of singers who lip-sync. It usually bores down to the fact that the promoters haven't got, or refuse to fork out for, the appropriate insurance and/or equipment.

They are exceptionally good live at what they do.

To label them sell-outs, or similar is frankly absurd. They've only been around 5mins, and pretty much ridden a wave of success since they appeared on the scene. Nobody is doing what they are doing. They are very original. One of the few acts who are both retrospective but also forward-thinking in their material.

Pop music it may be.

But there is a difference between churning-out generic, impersonal drivel commercial music and producing music which the public happen to like. Big difference.

Some fair replies on my earlier Disclosure post, thanks.

I'm just a bit annoyed that they have already been roped into to those sorts of cheesy kids summer ball events so quickly. I can understand that the pound signs have a big influence on this. But as a few of you have rightly pointed out, they are clearly very talented lads who have just got going.

I was hoping to see a bit more raw stuff from them, but now I fear they will be told what sort of stuff to produce, and will be told who they will be collaborating with on future tracks etc. So for me, yes, they have already sold out before really showing us what they can do.

As for the performance itself, I have read their own 'apologies' on what happened at Wembley. But it's no excuse. If they had any balls, they should have put their foot down and said it's our way or nothing. That would have been refreshing. They are clearly now one of 'POP' music's biggest acts, so they should be able to have a bigger say in their own performances if they are that good, shouldn't they? Yet again, bottling standing up for themselves is just another sign of selling out.

I guess it's just a sign of the times with regards to underground house music becoming more mainstream these days. These lads are just the latest in a line of recent sell outs. Guetta, S.H.M etc. When you get the likes of Tinchy thingeymebob, Pitbull, Dizzy what's his face etc appearing on your track, then you've gone for me. If you listen to most mainstream radio stations in the UK today, every second track that is being played has got that unmistakable 'wanna be a house track' Guetta-esque sample in it.

It's all wrong I tell thee!!!

But hey, that's just my current opinion! Would be good to see things change for the better, sooner rather than later.

Cheers

We love set times for today?

Is there anywhere on here that has set times or can anyone have a good guess? :)

Also can you still get pass outs? A couple of wristband vendors have said there are no such thing anymore ...

we love don't announce set times beforehand, but you'll be able to see them at the internet ticket queue, just before you get in, and then inside space at different locations.

you still get a passout IF you buy a full price ticket and get in before 9pm.
