Tuesdays Ammnesia - Tonight @ Amnesia

The closing party is an absolute treat! Dream lineup basically.

Am heading out on Saturday and hope this night hasn't been so much of a success that it's rammed to the tits next Tuesday. See they've also added M.A.N.D.Y and Julio Bashmore - good bookings but was looking forward to seeing Sasha in the main room all night.

For Prydz's 6-hour set - I assume they will get the "cube" thing set up like he had at the opening? Favourite producer by a long way so whatever happens I'm gonna be on cloud 9!
 
Does anyone know what Prydz's attendance record has been like this summer? Last 2 times I've been to Ibiza we made a point of trying to see him...only to find a no-show! Really looking forward to seeing him this time round, but we will literally be going there just to see him, so if he doesn't turn up I will not be impressed....

He was ill last night and Tiesto, Angello, AN21 & Vangelli took his place.

That's what I was worried about! He does tend to be 'ill' a lot during the season...or the classic 'missed his flight'. A friend was chatting to to Sebastian Leger last time we went and he said Prydz had a 50% record of turning up that year....hopefully he'll show this time as it's the closing party..

Thought he has a fear of flying so doesn't fly anywhere? Hence not playing outside of Europe very much at all. He was booked to play in Australia a few years ago but cancelled because he sacked it getting on the plane as he was too scared. Didn't go down well! Poor guy

should be a good closing night with pridz next month.......am going to youtube this whole cube thing and see what the fuss is about...:D

That sounds about right actually...I'm sure I read somewhere that he was actually living in Ibiza during the summer this year, and then travelling to his European dates from there. Which makes sense! Depends where he's playing the weekend before I guess...
 
Trance DJ with a fear of flying .. something quite incongruous about that when you think about it ?
 
Prydz is far from a trance dj.

He does suffer from a fear of flying so the 'missed the fly' excuse will very rarely be seen (he has been known to fly)

He is based in Ibiza for the summer.

Everyone gets ill from time to time, it's just unfortunate that he happens to be ill when you want to go and see him, can't be helped.

This is all relative, from the perspective of trance and progressive from the 'olden days' he is more of a trance dj, from beatport's perspective he is progressive.

Genre definitions are completely useless anyway.
 
Have to admit that the 'olden days' are more the stable I come from, Marsellus Wallace/Evolution - do get very confused on how the genres thing works now ... we used to consider Prydz on the trancier side of progressive before progressive then officially 'died' (and seems is now reborn ?) anyhow, it does not matter much - looks 8)8) to me whatever we call it. So is Sasha when he's on form :p:p:p.

Who's going to this next Tuesday ? The line-up and at this venue just looks completely awesome.

I have just this moment weakened, thrown all my resolutions away and bought a plane ticket over just for the night.. it is all too much to resist. Won't be 100% sure if I can get away until Monday but as it is August, could not leave it any longer to have the option.

I SO want to go !!!!! :twisted:

Basically, having already dropped Maya Jane Joles from the original plan now seems Sasha & Mar-T have been replaced by dubstep/D&B stuff - just a slight change !! (yet Sasha still shows the night on his website tour calendar). M.A.N.D.Y. / Julio have been pushed to the Terrace, presumably impacting on Eric's set.

Would be very grateful if someone could try to find out what is actually happening ? Was planning on coming over specially for this night based on the original billings and it's looking a bit like a muddled mish-mash at the moment...
