Probably right ! Hope he's having a good time in Edinburgh tonight - he has a lot of support up there.
It is very true and interested to hear that's the case in the US also ? Thought his European popularity dwindling was much to do with the US residencies and global tours but maybe it's just he's been overtaken by others as is the case for everyone in the end. He seems to attract an older crowd now many of whom have 'grown up with him' (including myself !) - not a bad thing in my book all in all !!
Remember seeing Sasha play Fabric some years back and nearly getting trampled in the crush. It was virtual hero-worshipping with people screaming and getting crazily carried away, just as bad if not worse than the reaction to SHM or Guetta at Pacha is now. More relaxed sets with a more relaxed crowd definitely suit better these days.
here in LA, he's still really big.... but if he were to play middle-America, frankly he would not have a big turnout while someone like Tiesto or Guetta or Afrojack would.
In a way, part of this is probably due to the commercial music being so accessible and 'fun' while to really get into a Sasha set you let him take you on journey that isn't just a bunch of hits thrown together. The younger clubbers aren't exposed to the S & D style of EDM for the most part. I'd bet that most of those who love Skrillex or Afrojack have little to no recognition of him... its it what it is... he's got his style/niche and it never will appeal to the masses like the SHM... but i'm sure he and Digweed, etc., are fine with that... as Digweed just said in an interview... i'm paraphrasing here: those guys (SHM, Guetta, etc.) make music for radio, our music will never be played on radio....
