Trainspotting T2

I watch them on the telly. Actually, I never go to the pictures these days... Much more relaxing to watch films at home and you're not stuck with modern blockbusters.

The diver posse are always going to the local cinema. The main reason being is that its so cheap. I mean 45 pounds for a family of four plus fuel and popcorn its a no brainer.

Favourite film and hope it has the same "feel" as the first.

Wonder if it'll be Trainspotting cast heavy or include the likes of Juice Terry and the uni girl who works in a massage parlour. Fancied the pants off her without ever seeing her.

The book is amazing, it's the only book I've read three times. Read an article about the new film somewhere that mentioned they have only loosely stuck to it though. The view in the article being that the topics that formed a large part of the book aren't really relevant today (owning a nightclub in Amsterdam/porno's being made in a pub). I hope they are wrong.

For anyone who has read Trainspotting/Porno, there's also a prequel kicking about - Skag Boys. It's also worth a read.

This is the only film I have been excited about and anxious to see.... ever I think.

The original was perfect. I can't vouch for the setting of the original or culture but the story/characters were so close to what I lived through growing up... I am honestly anxious to see how everything is going with the characters.

Even if this film is somehow a failure, I would want them to make a third in another 20 years just to bring the whole thing to a close (assuming 60+ years is as good a run as anyone can ask).

Aye just seen the track list...a little disappointing. The prodigy/lust for life remix thing made me cringe a little.

To be fair, who still listens to the OST for the first film?

ok without trying to intellectualise this too much, the original was really important at the time. It opened a lot of ears. I think a lot of 40 somethings still want to believe that trainspotting matters because it defined the mid-90s - that period when dance and indie and jungle and pretty much everything came together and the boundaries blurred - at least until the mainstream went shit again after 2000 (and hasn't recovered to this day). So for a lot of people this new film is important not so much because of the plot but because in a way it's a milestone for us getting old(er). So the soundtrack should really reflect that rather than just be a mish mash of nostalgia, glastonbury lightweights and token nods to the yoof. Obv I don't think anyone is really expecting another classic (I agree with Im not a robot) but will be interesting to see if people relate to it as much as they did the og.

Had to call up the soundtrack to remember what's on there. There are much better soundtracks. :p The best period of music in the 90s was the early 90s (Madchester, etc). Britpop, in retrospect, was really poor, and the biggest bands (Oasis, Pulp, Blur) were pumping out their worst material by 96.

SAY WHAAAT? Pulp 'Sorted..' was/is a fantastic record - you can't throw them in with a pack of neanderthal mancs

I agree though that early 90s was a really exciting time - Weekender still make me emotional. Whatever happened to Barry Mooncult? The others chased the dragon too hard..

His 'N' Hers is a much better album than A Different Class. They lost it when they got more anthemic and bigger in sound.

Im much more a fan of the film / story than the soundtrack. I wouldnt listen to it to remind me of the film where as perhaps those from Human Traffic or 24hour Party People do remind me of the scenes.
I have high hopes for the film , soundtrack def secondary
