Top Tunes 2006

'Put your hands up 4 Detroit' is this years 'bitch' catchy/novelty tune that sounds decent for a few listens but then gets boring fairly quickly. :spank:

Don't complain... at least your getting something out there!! Good luck with finding other gigs!

I just got back from the Isle yesterday and there were a few tunes that were absolutely huge that stick in my mind

1) Hard Fi - Hard to beat Axwell rmx
2) Mylo musclecar - Audio bullys rmx
2) solu music - fade (various versions)
3) A cover of an 80's electro syth track that I believe was originally by erasure but I can't remember the damn name which is real annoying
4) Love sensation - Played constantly ....(seemed like every two mins no matter where you were!!)
5)Bob Sinclar feat Steve Edwards - World hold on (Axwell Remix)

These tunes were always played no matter where you were.

Various others that I was either too nutted to remember  or just couldn;t find out the track names.

Was amazing by the way....already booked another week for september! ;-)

Guess you mean 'Supermode - tell me why', uses samples from 'Bronski Beat - Smalltown Boy'

Ah Ha! Yup that's the one. Nice to know that I was so close with my description lol!

was rinsed everywhere.

Another one was a rmx. of a nickleback tune. I.D anyone?

It will rule on earth!

A Must ->>> Suzanne Palmer - Keep The Faith (Offer Nissim Remix)

Israelie creators [That could have ruled Ibiza if you knew of 'em :-) ]:
Offer Nissim Feat Maya - Perfect Love (Original Love Mix)
Offer Nissim ft. Fairuz - Eastern Drums (Orginal Mix)
Donna Summer - Power Of Love (Offer Nissim Remix)
C&C Vs RS - Low Frequencies (Ronen M High Mix)

What will Rule Ibiza?

Paraiba - Discordance (Maurinho Da Silva Remix)
Gustavo Santaolalla - The Wings (Theme To Brokeback Mountain) (Tony Moran & Rigg Remix)
Starkillers - Diskoteka (Kobbe & Austin Leeds Mix)
Jimmy James - Fashionista (Terranova Circuit Mix)

C'mon, Offer Nissim sucks. He's been many times in Brazil and he always brings pre-recorded sets to play, never live.

Besides, this kind of house with female vocals shouting is totally gay music, not the kind of music the Ibiza audience in really fond of.

But, from your list, I do love those tunes:
Gustavo Santaolalla - The Wings (Theme To Brokeback Mountain) (Tony Moran & Rigg Remix)

Jimmy James - Fashionista (Terranova Circuit Mix)

And don't forget this anthem, this would sure be a HUGE hit in Ibiza ("put your hands up!"):

Be Without You (Moto Blanco Remix) - Mary J Blidge

A bit cheesy with the vocals (even Hed-Kandi-esque) but still like

Leg Soup- 'Wonderland' (Soul Avengerz Mix)

Very summery funky house tune.

You must be kidding!?
The songs you suggested sounds like an old crappy Celine Dion remix from -98...:spank:
That arabian song from from Nissim was the best from the ones listed abow.

Tunes I heard most often over the opening parties:

Ame - Rej
Cheshire Catz & Timo Garcia - The Drop
Switch - A bit patchy (eric prydz remix)

Paul Woolford - Erotic Disclosure

i also heard a new, squelchy, electro mix of Black Box- Ride on Time loads. which was nice.

Kurd Maverick - The Rub (I Never Rock)
Kris Menace - Jupiter
Switch - A Bit Patchy (Eric Prydz Remix)
Ricky Stone_- Shanghai Taxi -_Deepgroove's_Dirty_House_Mix
Roger Sanchez - Lost (D Ramirez Remix)
Pete Heller - Big Love (Steven Lee & Trent Cantrelle 2006 Re-Rub)

My official list of the 3 best songs of the openings were:

Ricky Stone - Shanghai Taxi (Deepgroove mix)
Everywhere. About as low as I'll go on the minimal tip, though nice to see the scenen go away fromt he Mr C style groovless bleeps and clicks.

Outwork - Electro (Cube guys mix)
First Heard Morillo play it in New York, after hearing it on Bora Bora, feel it's much more suited to DARK ebvironments!

Dirty South vs Evermore - It's Too Late
Massive Massive Massive. VERY obvious, VERY Swedish, though good enough at doing what it does to maintain interest.

Other notable (though not really doing it for me) include
Supermode - Tell me Why (Old Old Old!)
Ame - Rej (has its use though just too nnng for a club)
The Ramirex mixes of Lost and Bodyrox are a bit too everywhere for me
Changes/Same Man/Bit Patchy have all been heard too much alreqady for me to be impressed by them I'm afraid, though I probably still love the first two.

And how anyone cannot feel the need to rip their ears off when they hear the Love Sensation abomination that's going around, I don't know.
