Together at Amnesia 2015....Terrace Hosted by DEFECTED

The line-ups are generally good. Very good in some cases. But...

they're just not very Defected, are they.

It's too much of a mixmash for my liking. There are plenty of established Defected alumni here, granted. But lots of Together off-cuts and plenty of mercenary DJs who will pull a crowd but who's style & sound is far removed from Defected's.

The more they reveal, the more I am inclined to think this link-up has been everything about boosting Together's profile, and the only thing it has done for Defected is give them a place to call (I suspect temporary) home.

Glitterbox at Space might have to be their saving grace, as their influence on the island as a brand is clearly in a downward spiral.
 
I think iam right in saying all Djs playing for defected will be bringing their House sets with a bit of tech house to Amnesia terrace on tuesdays ie chase and status play alot of House in Dj sets when production wise House aint their theng....
 
I'm sure that'll be the case Scanty. But don't bother branding it as Defected, as it's counter productive. They've built that brand up for over 15 years now.

Imagine if Cocoon booked Hannah Wants and then said, "Don't worry, she'll be playing a minimal techno set" People just wouldn't buy it, would they.
 
what's true though, in some weeks this summer, amnesia terrace will sound very very similar mon/tues/weds/fri night...

Glad to see the line up on that date also. The only reason I was having to go to Together is because my mate likes Chase n Status, so at least there'll be the terrace to escape to haha.
 
So are we saying through compromises Defected are being backed into a corner brandwise/musicly or are thease nights just anouther string to Defecteds bow . As a punter i wanna know whether is going to be a proper night and not Pete Tong dressed up as Sam Divine ha
 
I think they'll be great nights, in terms of both atmosphere and music. But, yes, I think the Defected sound is compromised.

Maybe they'll make it work. I dunno. Let's see.

It's f**king nuts! Unless they really believe they can pull in punters for all of those nights. I bow to them if they can! All I do know is the Amnesia Terrace is a VERY big place when it's not full!

Slightly early in the morning I know, but any reports from the opening last night? I saw some pictures from the Terrace on Twitter, and looked pretty busy..... but Ibiza photographers are very good at making a night look busier than it is :)
 
Seen lots of photos, videos & status updates. Seems it went tremendously well!

(Only negative comment I've seen is that the sound cut out in the Main Room for 10mins during Andy C's set.)
 
Tong, Hot Since 82, AndHim on the Terrace when I'm there (21st July)....happy with that.

My bit of advice regarding this night is go to Salinas during the day, last time I went they were giving out wristbands to get you in for 15 euros. That was when Prydz was resident as well so absolute bargain...

Oliver dollar was a class act!

Seriously like that dude, the vibe was amazing when he was playing. Can't explain it but it was probably one of the best sets I have enjoyed in Ibiza ever.

What's the feeling on the island at the moment - is it busier than usual, or about the same for post opening June?

very tough life believe me!

yeah I missed hyte opening so wanna go and see it and am also curious on how it'll do tonight.

I've said it in my 'nostrum's chronicles' thread; the island is MUCH busier than normally in mid june.
