The footy !!

it was partly injury and partly the grief from corinthians fans that caused him to retire (and roberto carlos to leave)

great player, his year under robson at barca was amazing, especially THAT goal against Compostela

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NC57WLJYmUE

he will always be remembered though for that WC Final though - loads of outlandish conspiracy theories did the rounds at the time about dark forces at nike pulling strings, but I think he was just desperate to play through the pain in a world cup final

He had a great career no need to take crap from the fans. That is what I mean I have fond me, no need to tarnish the imagemories of watching him play

Chelsea draw with Fulham could be costly for a Champions league bid. They have a tough run to the end of the season, or they could be title spoilers:D:D

You must be happy with tonight's result Chewie!

Gattuso really is a hateful bag of sh1te.

I'll have a tenner on Jordan please

I thought Spurs were magnificent tonight.

Gattuso put in a virtuoso comedic performance as well! Had me in stitches most of the match

I absolutely love it when people lose the plot live on TV. Punching the ground like a child, headbutting Joe Jordan, trying to square up to a guy twice his height. I didn't want it to end!! I'm not even a Spurs fan and I just about screamed the house down when they scored! Loved it. Top marks tonight.

Absolutely immense from Spurs last night. Going on the strength of that performance you'd have to say we've got a big chance of winning the whole thing, what with completely dominating and beating the top team in Italy. However, years of being a Spurs fan have taught me caution, so we'll just have to see what happens at White Hart Lane. Very optimistic though....:D

Spurs were great in the first half. Looked content to soak up the pressure in the 2nd half but a great counter for the goal. You can definitely take encouragement from that performance.

Gattuso was pure comedy!

That flamini tackle was scandalous. Very pleased with the final score.

Bit nervous bout later, I'd take a score draw now

I was talking to a Spurs fan and a Citeh fan at work today and we came up with the following scenario:

Man U win the title with Arsenal 2nd, Citeh 3rd and Spurs 4th.

Torres is the new Shevchenko and moved on in the Summer to Spain for a big loss.

'Appy 'Arry is embroiled in a new bungs scandal and Mourinho comes in to pick up the reins at White Hart Lane.

Stranger things have happened, but in all seriousness, what would happen at Chelsea if they failed to qualify for the Champions League?

I guess Ancelotti would go, but with no CL income, surely that would but a huge burden on the owner, and the club's position regarding income vs expenditure and UEFA?

Kind of makes the current Chelsea situation look a bit of a worry for them?

The owner wouldn't bail out, so not THAT much of a worry.
I think he might even leave Carlo in there. He didn't become a bad coach overnight.
That UEFA thing is over 3 years and only starts next season. Time to trim fat, turn it around, and get back in the CL.
Winning the Europa League wouldn't be all bad

was i watching Spurs defend properly?
great result. need to score at least 2 at home to progress.

as for the Olympic Stadium, we'd fill 60-70k easy. im sure we'll find another site, and get no ****e from the likes of english heritage who wanted to save 3 'historic' buildings in one of the ****tist parts of london, adding a considerable cost to the WHL plans.

Haringays loss is another councils gain.

I awoke this morning to a beast of a hangover which was compounded by the knowledge that an easy win was thrown away in the second half by complacent play and a needless capitulation to a rejuvenated arsenal

this defeat left all sorts of doubts in my head about the steel of the team -losing Pique (they call him piquenbauer!) is a big blow too

the side are really going to have to earn la remontada (comeback) - although I still think it should be a home win

as for andy townsend's inane commentary - can someone please shoot this whopper NOW?

As an Arsenal fan (of sorts), wahey etc, as a reallist, can a team that couldn't keep a 4 goal lead for 45 minutes against Newcastle keep a 1 goal lead for 90 at the Nou Camp? Unlikely! Hope I'm wrong!

'for a big lad, he's quick with his feet'

'the one thing about this Barcelona side, is that if you give them the ball, they will destroy you'

etc etc

unbelievable tool
