Pele has joined the call for T*ttenham Hotspur to move to the 2012 Olympics Stadium.

In a letter obtained by Sky Sports News, the Brazilian great has written to the Olympic Park Legacy Company pledging support for Sp*rs' bid to take control of the Stratford site once it has hosted the Games.

T*ttenham and West Ham United are both fighting to take control of the site with the Olympic Park Legacy Company receiving final submissions from both bidding parties on Friday ahead of a decision next week.

But Pele has given Sp*rs' bid a shot in the arm, telling Olympics organisers he supports the club's aim to create a dedicated football ground which would provide "a great stadium".

He adds: "I really don't understand wanting to play with a track around the pitch. The players won't like it and it probably won't last.

"As a player you need to feel the passion and the intensity of the fans. The best stadiums connect the fans to the pitch and if you lose that, you lose something that really matters - and eventually you lose the fans.

"The Olympics is special too and it would be good to see a decision taken which means that we see excitement and great sport experiences follow it too."

I went to QPR yesterday. Really enjoyed it, great to go to an old school ground where you are so close to pitch. The gulf in standard is massive. If they go up with the same team they'd have to expect double figure spankings!

13,000 people there. It felt tiny compared to the Arsenal and West Ham games I've been to this season.

once outside the prem, the standard drops quickly and there is actually very little between the teams in the leagues from championship down to upper echelons of county football.

obviously there are individually better players but a team in the conference mid table could prob hold their own in league 1 or 2 just without giving too much more.

Yeah, funny enough both I and my mate remarked yesterday that some members of our own club's first XI could of held their own in that game.
