The footy !!

if Given is injured - tough
they allowed Hart to go on loan
Kind of what I was thinking...

When Chelsea had Cech and Hilario out at one point this season, we had 3rd choice keeper Ross Turnbull playing and promoted our reserve/youth keeper to the bench.

Why was this not an option for City when they've got 5 reserve & youth keepers?

Morbs. You've got your ear to the footballers ground. If you had go give a percentage likelyhood on the gerrard rumours being true, what would you apply?!

for a team of Man citys riches to have to beg to get a keeper is shameful

apparently they have 9 keepers on thier books

was waiting for someone to wake up, read the sun and come on here with some anti city diatribe!!

2 of those "keepers" are under 16 ffs???

given - injured
taylor -injured
hart - on loan
gonzalez -injured
nielsen - now 1st choice

so yes there is a goalkeeper crisis!

when hart went on loan we had 3 keepers to call on just in case, apparently money doesnt buy the foresight to see that your 3 stand in keepers will all get injured!!

anyway, it's of no consequence......we have enough up front for the lack of goalie to be worrying us!!!!!

Incomplete list you've got there.

Injured

Shay Given
Stuart Taylor, 29
David González, 27

On Loan
Joe Hart, 23
Tobias Johansen, 19

Available
Gunnar Nielsen
Loris Karius, 17
James Wood, 19
Nathan Dean, 18

That's 4 healthy keepers (source: the Times, not the Sun).

It's not an anti-City thing, but it is a valid question. In the situation I mentioned earlier with Chelsea, we had 19-year-old Rhys Taylor on the bench for a game or two.

Lorius is a good keeper!!

re anti city

the sports press this week has been a bit

"no english teams in the champs league, lets make up some **** about City"

I'm not, really. Just asking the question. I think it's a valid concern... curious that the other 4th-place contenders haven't spoken up.

What did you make of that Sun article today about the 4-man clear-out? I'd take Ireland off your hands

"no english teams in the champs league, lets make up some **** about City"

as I said ^^^^^

Neil Custis, absolute cnut of a bloke who reckons hes got the inside knowledge at City & manure, having a quiet week because manure not in champs league anymore!!

if you want the fans perspective:

SWP - bit of a busted flush now
Bridge - a liability and caught out too often going forward
Ade - either unplayable or not interested

Ireland..........2 seasons ago I would have gladly let him go, then last season he was in inspried form, this season, seem,s he has lost his way again, been injured a lot to be fair.

Jury is out on bobby manc, whoever is in charge next season expect a lot of people to exit in the summer!! as for richardsgoing to spurs, I think this might suit us for satya seasons loan, a bit like joe hart, let him go to a lesser club, less pressure, come back a better player ;)

Very glad Liverpool got an exhausting but ultimately fruitless 120 minute workout

I watched Fulham v Hamburg before turning on extra time at Anfield. Very happy for Roy Hodgson, Clint Dempsey & co.! And my old friend Damien Duff. It's been an amazing campaign for them. Hope they beat Athletico too!

Yep, I think every neutral hopes Fulham go on and win it.

Couldn't fault the efforts last night, and 2-1 was probably the right result.

Bugger. Sorry chaps.

Double bugger :spank: Like Jam said, couldnt fault them really, but our lack of firepower up front is the reason we didnt get that away goal that would have seen us through. :spank:

I think Atletico will be too good for them, but it has been a very romantic run for them nevertheless.

I really hope Hodgson does it, and I will certainly be supporting them, but like Ferd says I think Atletico will be too good on the night. They have some real quality players in Simao, Forlan and Reyes.

I see Rafa want a overhaul of the squad :spank: Does that include yourself Mr Benitez :? With what do we overhaul the squad with :spank:

Doesnt he overhaul the squad every year???
The number of players in and out since Benitez arrived is pretty substantial. Last summer may have been lighter than most but reality is he just hasnt done very well...

Not really no, 2 or 3 may leave or be brought in, but he certainly hasn overhauled it. Las season he sold Alonso and Arbeloa and had to use the money from them to buy Aquilani and Johnson, but he wasnt given additional money. We do need 4 or 5 class players to be challenging again like last season.
