The footy !!

No!

Worrying thing is that they can actually win it and look the team to beat. Will only qualify them for the Supercup so it could have been worse

Still rather win the Europa league than just the Carling cup  We'll can also still finish 4th

He was the little one running around in circles 30-40 yards out. You know... the one that ran into the box once and then fell down with no one near him

Mate, I can't believe you still have such bitterness against Barcelona..
Every comment you make includes a cheeky swipe at us!

I'll be cheering for Chelsea to win the the league this year, and that's the truth!

With regards to agentundercover, i totally agree with you that some of the comments about Barca this year have been overboard. To be fair to the players and coach, they have NEVER said they think they are great and amazing etc etc...
It's been reading articles like these that have made me think people need to wait for a few more years before making judgement.

ps: that was the first time I've seen Messi dive. And i think the fact he did it in his worst game in a Barca shirt says it all really. A VERY bad day at the office.

I think the Barça backlash was inevitable in a way. Some of the press hyperbole was getting ridiculous, although in fairness, at no point has it ever gone to Guardiola's head. The problem is I think that whenever Barça evangelise about the youth team philosophy, it gets interpreted as something quite pretentious in English, but it shouldn't be - it is ultimately just an adherence to an idealistic, exciting brand of football, which surely no neutral in the world could possibly dislike? The cringe comes for me when Barça people start getting too 'moralistic' about it. Naive journalists at Sport and El Mundo Deportivo need to understand that you need 'beasts' in the game to bounce off, and the real test of greatness for me is beating the Inters and Chelseas not the Arsenals. I have some strong doubts this time, after last night, but I think it can still be done.

bbc live updates/feed of liverpool's road trip is an embarrassment to journalism.

I just read part of Liverpool Fc TV's blog.

12:20 - MADRID
We're here! The players didn't eat on the flight, but the press were offered their fifth baguette of the trip so far. Ham and cheese this time. Ngog and El Zhar seem to be battling it out for who has the biggest headphones. A nice 22 degrees in Madrid - now off to our hotel. Finally.

Fifth Baguette of the trip, front page news if ever I read it

Apparently the lads have bonded really well spending 24 hours together in enclosed spaces  :spank:

16:23 - Coach stops for N'Gog to take a pi$$ on the side of the road, as someone has blocked the onboard loo.

16.30 Rafael Benitez orders the coach driver to turn around. Apparently he lost his f****** mind somewhere between the years 2006 and 2007 :!:

a bad defeat, and an undeniable crash down to earth, after the astronomical football of the last couple of months

'La remontada' (the comeback) is possible but going to be very hard... esp if Inter park 11 men (a bus?) in front of goal

there are precedents though. Didn't Chelsea once get turned over 5-1 after a 3-1 in the first leg? :D

how about milan 4 deportivo 1 first leg.

second leg, deportivo 4-0!!

I remember that game.. that was Super Depor at their best. Luque was on fire then.. (not quite the same at Newcastle!) They shouldve beaten Mourinho's Porto in the Semi's that year, they were very unlucky

I also remember the 5-2 Barca game against Chelsea. Figo, Kluivert, Rivaldo...

Wow, all this talk of comebacks is making me more confident!!! :D:D:D:D:D

after a free kick which our keeper had covered until a freak deflection off the wall, babayaro if memory serves then extra time we were minnows in those days

still great times. :D:D:D:D

What is this I read this morning??

Spurs linked with missing million pound Pompey deal.

Smells of you know who! The net is closing.

I noticed that all the debts that Pompey owe that a certain ex manager's name wasn't in there. He made sure he got paid up first.

No.

There is no doubting whatsoever he is as dodgy as funk. Hence his arrest. If anyone thinks he is not then they are clearly a Spurs fan. Far too much smoke without fire.

The media love him and is left well alone. Sky was sickening when he was arrested as they obviously didn't want to upset little Jamie by saying he was arrested for non-footballing matters and then proceeded to rip into the state of Portsmouth FC.

Look at the state of Portsmouth and he is very much to do with that yet slithers away scot free.

this has just come through

JUST IN .......from the same guy who reported the John Terry thing 2 days before it got out......
Gerrard moving abroad in the summer because his wife's having an affair with a Derby County player and he's got a 16 year old pregnant and she's keeping it. Apparently everyone in Liverpool has already accepted that he's going. He's in court at the moment trying to stop it all coming out so Capello doesn't kick him out of the World Cup squad.

This has been doing the rounds for a few months. Though I think she been with that local gangster again, not a player. I think hes been living in the Marriot or Malmaisson.

It'd account for his ****e from this season. TBH if we got the right price I wouldnt be too pissed off.
