The footy !!

This might have already been covered in here (there’s a lot of pages to go back through) but does anyone have any good suggestions for places to watch the euros final in Bossa on Sunday? Preferably as Covid safe as possible, outdoors perhaps.

Ticket for the final in hand. Exception of Brazil World Cup I’ve done every tournament since Germany 2006. Countless pointless friendlies abroad, or 0-0 draw away in Slovenia. But always good trips potentially spoilt by a few hours of football. But this Sunday, win or lose ultimately makes it all worth it 👍
Gotta love those ESTC windows! I'll be in the scrum for the 5 or 6 general sales that end up on sale sometime between now and 7.55pm on Sunday

I'm sure this post won't win me any friends on here but it needs to be read and it needs to be shared. If England wants to be loved around the world, it will take more than good PR on the field. The scumbags (not everyone obvs) who follow the national side need to be outed, shamed and jailed.

A hell of a lot of sour grapes across Europe. No excuses if this is true, but usually tend to me exaggerated and without evidence...

read the eyewitness accounts....

is this family making things up too?

I know most of you are dyed in the wool Ingerlund but c'mon

it kinda matters not just cos it's cunty behaviour but because it affects how the English are perceived. People remember this shit and it affects everything, from global politics down to the waiter gobbing in your chips....

Unfortunately, there is a part of society that loves going to this sort of thing as an outlet for their "views". It is by no means anywhere close to the majority, but the bad minority make a hell of a lot of noise.

At the Germany game a couple of weeks ago, the concourses were very very edgy with a lot of anti German singing, as well as the dealers of North London having had a very good time shifting the gear that has been in their cupboard for the last 18 months. My mate described it as "geezers everywhere" which feels a very accurate depiction.

Please be assured that we are not all like this, not even close, and we despise this aspect of our society deeply and feel that it has no place in the past, present or future of our country.

yeah, I get that but I just think there is this dark side that bothers me. I'm touchy about it because I live abroad now and am constantly getting grief for being English... which is unfair because most of us (certainly in London anyway) are actually alright and open-minded, most of my pals are really decent. I'm not a total hippy and know that England could never realistically have happy carnival mexican wave kind of fans because the tribalism is too deep, but equally I think that shouldn't give people a pass to terrorise foreign kids. FWIW before i get called unpatriotic, I do like the side and what Southgate represents. It's a vast improvement on the pissed up wifebeaters of old.

Agreed - especially at big tournaments the closer it is to England the more nobs it attracts. Didn't see any in South Africa, Russia and probably won't in Qatar. At home / Germany / France different story.... On Wednesday night in Wembley just around the area there were loads of people definitely not 'fans' or even going to the game milling around, so does not surprise me that there was trouble.

Funnily enough the only England game I have personally had trouble at was in Denmark in 2011 when some local decided to hit me on the back of my head as we were walking back into town.....

I don't think anyone is giving them a pass on it, but directly challenging the behaviour is extremely tough. When in the ground, there are only really 3 ways:

1) Another supporter directly challenges it. Now, I don't know about you, but if it's a 6 foot 5 pissed/coked up skinhead that's being a knob, there isn't any chance I'm going near them
2) A steward challenges it. These guys and girls get paid £9-12/hour with sweet sod all training- I think 1) also applies here too
3) The rozzers get involved. The only problem is that, there are no police in the ground anymore (or at least very few), as the match organisers are generally too tight to pay for policing in the ground

I don't think you are unpatriotic at all, I doubt anyone thinks that, and many many many people hold the same opinion. I just don't see a simple way of addressing the issue. You would hope it will die out with age, but that doesn't fix the now. You would hope that they can be located by their seat number and CCTV, but they swap seats.

They are embarrassing and absolute scumbags and I genuinely wish they would all f*** off and watch it at the pub so that all the dickheads are in one place and can be dickheads to each other. Football should be accessible to anyone, you should be able to sit anywhere in the ground regardless of who you support (insert rugby analogy here), how old you are, what the colour of your skin is, what religion you are, what sexuality you are, what gender you are, how many sugars you have in your tea, and even if you like Tech House.

f*** those twats, f*** them all.
