Neil Lennon attacked by geese

13-05-11
CELTIC manager Neil Lennon was recovering last night after a frenzied goose attack.

Lennon has also received a parcel bomb from a duck
Lennon was visiting the Scottish Wet Fowl Centre in Bathgate when six large female geese ambushed him from behind a wheely bin.

The gaggle then cornered Lennon outside the Granary Café where they swore at him several times in Goose before pulling him to the ground.

Park warden Bill McKay said the attack was 'totally unprovoked' adding: "It couldn't have been sectarian or football related. These geese are Canadian humanists and are mostly interested in ice hockey."

Lennon suffered multiple goose bites to the face and body and also burned himself when he dropped his cup of blackcurrant tea after a goose kicked him in the back.

Eyewitness Helen Archer said: "He managed to break free and sprinted towards the car park but then tripped over one of those low hanging bollard chains and knocked himself out on the bonnet of a Saab.

"I went over to see if he was alright but before I knew it I was raining angry blows down on his unconscious head as my two children cheered me on.

"I'm a grade three Wiccan so I'm not into this whole Catholic-Protestant thing. There's just something about his face."

The six geese were identified using CCTV footage but are too young to stand trial. Officials say it is likely their visas will be revoked and they will ordered back to Canada on Monday.

In 5th place? ;)

We'll see. How about a bet we finish higher than Chelsea ;) I reckon well be top 3 if we dont win it.

Below is the league table since Kenny took over. That is without Gerrard for a long period of time, without Carroll, without Nancy boy Torres and with a new manager and coach (That Steve Clarke is half alright BTW, I bet you wish he was back at Chelsea ;))

With Suarez and Carrol playing together more I think well only get better !!

Sorry to say you can dress up any part of a season to make things look good. Who did you play is the bigger question? The team will always improve with a manager change IMHO

Wins against:

Man United, Chelsea, Man City, Wolves, Fulham(twice), Stoke, Newcastle, Sunderland and Birmingham.

Drew with:

Arsenal, Everton and Wigan

The above though is only a sign of improvement, and it will take some decent transfer business in the Summer to give us the chance of an improvement on this year's position.

*Personally* I would think that Joe Cole, Glen Johnson, Milan Jovanovic and Alberto Aqulani will be moved out. Agger might join them as he's struggled with injury.

I would like to see Gary Cahill from Bolton, and believe he's worth spending decent money on, plus a wide player and/or a striker with N'Gog moved out as he's Championship standard, at best.

Charles N'Zogbia or Ashley Young would be candidates but the latter might command a huge fee like Cahill.

I'm not convinced that Charlie Adam is the right player to pursue. Sure he shines at Blackpool but there have been reports of interest in Honda from CSKA and he's an international with more experience.

Finally a full back as Carragher won't have the legs to keep moving out wide when ther's an injury as he's done this year.

hoping we go for Young and N'Zogbia we definitely need width, I'm unsure on Adam too now but he is playing in a team with zero confidence at the mo? Who predicted Maxi remembering how to play football? he's been a revelation.

Ofcourse we need to add quality additions to progress, we definately need a couple of wide players, and im hearing that Young is quite a very strong possibility. We also need a Quality full back and im not too sure Enrique is the answer. Otherwise with the emergance of the promising young players, and with Carrol and suarez already doing ok, we dont need a huge ammount IMO.

As for shipping out, I can't see Johnson going TBH, but I can see Cole, Jovanovic, Degen, Kyrigiakos, Poulsen (WTF, he has got to go), Insua, Ngog, and a couple more going. As for Aquilani, if they cant afford him we should bring him back. Hes been quality for Juve and was showing glimpses of promise before being shipped out by Woy. The poor lad didnt stand much of a chance at the start. He replaced an amazing player while injured and then struggled to find form before being packed off, personally id like to see him given a second chance.

But going back to next season, I seriously do belive we will be back in the top 4 for sure, and hopefuly even contending for the title. Even whiskey nose says we are going to be a threat. Also what do you do with gerrard when fit ?

I would (controversially perhaps) play him deeper.

If he's struggling with his groin as an ongoing niggle, I'd prefer him to sit in the middle and spray the ball about, rather than ask him to make loads of forward runs.

Meireles has proved he can do that so it's time to stop asking SG to be too many things now we've finally got some quality ahead of him.

We will need a wide player though. Kuyt gives everything every game but he's not the kind of player to sprint up and down the line and go past a defender. I'd be happy with pace on one side and Kuyt on the other. Guess that means we need a lefty...... step up Mr Honda.

Well played Spurs, a deserved win tonight, and on balance probably deserve to finish 4th.

Let's see what happens next weekend.

:)

Another great result for arsenal today!!! arsene is looking more and more like basil fawlty every day, all he needs to do is start thrashing his car with a branch and he'll be there.

Saw the wigan - west ham match on the internet. Not seen anything like that ever.

2nd half was literally 5 v 5 in each area. There was no midfield what so ever. Could've gone either way.. And sky were showing arsenal v aston villa??

West Ham fans, you'll be back next year you'll see.

As for next week.. 5 huge games at the bottom.

Please Blackpool and Wolves go down.. I hate their managers
