The Footy... (2011-2012 season)

Just been told by @saifpr top agent Saif Ruby that manchester city have offered £100 million + Balotelli for Messi Barca considering it now!

Tevez, Kaka, Rossi, Benzema and many more glittering attackers linked with move to Spurs. What are the bets it's Emile Heskey?

ever wonder why iain dowie isn't a manager now? "crouch, jerome, jones and walters...as good a strike force outside the top 3/4 in the EPL." :spank:

Looks like Modric is staying then...

Ngog off to Bolton. I assume you reds are happy about that?

For what we paid for him when the purse srtring were tight it wasnt a bad gamble, but he never quite cut it for me. He'll be more suited to a team like Bolton i think. Plus hes surplus now weve got Bellamy back, and a couple of great younger strikers coming through the ranks.

Meireles on a 4 year deal :D:D:D:D

TBH he was the only decent signing we made when Woy Bodgson was in charge, but he doesnt fit in with Kennys or the new owners plans/strategy.

How much have you guys paid us in the last year for Torres, Meireles, and Yossi, 67 mill is it ?

Good signing. 8)

On paper yes...but where will he be fitting in.

With 6 spaces to be filled by Lampard, Mikel (Essien if /when fit) Ramires, Mata, Kalou, Torres, Drogba, Anelka, Malouda, Lukaka, Sturridge to name but a few...

Meireles is a quality player, seems to lack consistency tho.

Not an original thought, but can not believe Levy turned down the case on offer for Modric.

Unless acting on principle (highly unlikely) it makes no sense.

You would have to win the champions league to pay back £40m.

And i'm not convinces he has been doing it long, week in week out, to justify the fee anyway.

Has a whiff of desperation to me, as you couldnt get Modric it seems you've settled for him, he is 28 after all. Good player like.
I'd rather have him for 12m than Modric for 40m.
Not desperate at all!

Well, if it were up to me he'd be filling in for Lamps a lot.

Meireles is the biggest ****house I've seen in a Red shirt (he'll do well for Chelsea), he had a decent spell after New Year that was about it, Kenny and Comolli have done an excellent peice of business there getting £12mill for him a year after we paid £11mill for him.

I'm made up with how the transfer window panned out for us we've managed to get rid of near enough all the ****e that Hodgson/Purslow brought in, and a few of Rafa's questionable signings, whilst improving the squad in these areas. 19 players off the wage bill reducing it by £30 million!

Enrique for Konchesky, Downing for Cole, Coates for Kyriagkos, Bellamy for N'gog, Adam for Aquillani, Henderson for Poulsen...all an improvment.

I'm looking forward to the season ahead it's going to be a cracker...don't **** with our strike force you'll either get a punch, bitten or twatted with a golf club!:spank:

He scord some very important goals for liverpool last season.

Oh and paying 35m for andy carroll isn't desperate at all!!!!!!

He had a decent spell, and as was his first season did ok, but he was inconsistent. Was Bodgsons best buy, still would rather have the other players weve got in midfield.

As for Carroll, we prolly paid an inflated price but torres forced our hand, and seeing as we made 30mill on him it didnt hurt too much. Plus hes only very young, if he does well it wont seem a huge ammount. Im not worried.

Two songs you will be hearing at Ewood Park this season:

"We're going down, we're going down, we're going, we are going down..."
and
"You can shove your Venky's chicken up your arse, Oh you can shove your Venky's chicken up your arse..."
