The end of the West End?

That and being a cheap place to pre-drink, which is now replaced more and more with drinks from the supermarket on the balcony

West end - personally I don't get it. You could be in any town centre, or any of the old 18-30's resorts. It's just not a pleasant place to be, and It wouldn't bother me one bit if if disparaged. In terms of nightlife, Ibiza is about the high quality "super" clubs the likes of which you don't get elsewhere, especially in such proximity, The backstreet bar can be found pretty much anywhere not far from where you live!

It certainly serves a purpose, you can have a good night if you are having a clubbing night off, or if you are having drinks before going to clubs, its usually a riot and if you can get a table on the street then its great people watching!

I’ve never understood why balloon sellers throw all the empties on the floor? Doesn’t that just draw attention to them?

If they were more discreet and put them in the bin I’m sure people wouldn’t give a shit about them

A lot of things would be solved if people were just a little less stupid and/or lazy...
 
I spent a few hours on the West End last night, Delilah's and the new HUSH. Completely dead. Nearly as many heavily-armed Guardia Civil as there were punters. It's the second busiest weekend of the year... it's over guys. Time for something new and, yes, a bit classier

Seems to be a thing of the whole balearics. Saw in TV , that they had measures in majorca , too.
Ok , it is what it is. Ibiza is much to expensive now for the common 17 to 21 people anyway , except the rich kids. Or kids who only stay only for 3 or 4 days.
75dB Beach Bars plus expensive Clubs ?
Ok , Sa Trinxa is there and others. You can have nice days in the Island.
Maybe it was neccessary to change something. I am not sure.

I went to the street that Octan is on in Bossa early in the evening (when to be fair it's always been quiet) the other week and a Bar owner down there told me if it's another bad summer this year it's game over.

Things weren't great there even before Covid and Octan has a more continental crowd than Sankeys did, and they don't pre-drink there like the Brits did back in the day.
 
Iv watched a few vlogs from this summer and last on YouTube and the young girls and couples aren’t interested in the west end.. their only booking 3-4 nights in nice hotels and doing things like STK, Bambuddha, Wi Ki Woo, Skinny Kitchen, O beach, Ushuaia, maybe Ibiza rocks, maybe the hippy market and a mooch around Ibiza town and that’s about it.

All about the Instagram pics and not wasting the next day really rather than, sitting on the west end people watching with a drinks deal, taking a drink every time one of you has to say ”no thanks” to a looky looky man, having to go to some grungy toilets and waking up the next day on a 2* hotel bathroom floor 😅

As much as I had a good time on the west end 8-10 years ago, grudged paying the money for a more upmarket hotel, I also didn’t want to spend all night there but plenty did. Times are changing and bars are gonna have to roll with it or lose out.

Saying that I think places like The Highlander would be the last to have to change something as it still pulls the crowd.

Everything correct. But you have to have the money for all that. 3-4 nights : Possible. 10 nights : Expensive for most people.
But you dont have to go in a club every evening. Dalt Vila has a lot of things to have a nice evening which is much cheaper.

I'm 47 on reasonable money and 5 days is my maximum and usually 3 or 4 😂 I can do that and do what I want when I want or go longer and have to make decisions. And in Ibiza I'm not good at decisions 😁

I'll never forget the 'other till' there

Or the night I'd over done in that much I remembered the place being a cross between Pacha and El Divino and my mate lost his shoes. Was quite a surprise the next evening when I popped in and find out it was a little dump with porn on the TV. We never did find his shoes

Miss the Amsterdam bar (bottled beers only !) didn’t realise it had gone when I went past last year. Was never a huge west end fan but back in the day when CircoLoco finished early evening we’d usually go up the west end to carry on for a bit. Also fond memories of a group of us taking over Viva for a night playing music.

But I do agree, even mates I know going for the first time this year, not massively into their music didn’t go there once.
