I understood what you mean, but it's definitely not gonna happen, for various reasons. schedules: ushuaïa has to close at midnight (and works very well in that slot). as for hï, when it was still space, they really tried to open early (early as in the evening, pre-sunset) and bring in people early. but with very few exceptions it didn't really work. ushuaïa did see that space lately only started working past midnight. now they own both businesses and they are definitely not going to put on competition within their own group. ushuaïa till midnight and then hï starts. it makes sense.
 
When are we likely to get anymore info on the room layout etc?

I'm guessing there will be a promotional blitz before the actual opening party. Are there likely to be any pre-opening parties (Loving Ibiza etc) this year?

I'm not sure whether they'll announce the actual room layout beforehand, but earlier in this thread I've put some guesses about that. I can't say more than that right now I'm afraid.

no pre-openings as far as I'm aware. lovin' ibiza does pacha, privilege, bora bora and ocean beach.

I wasn't citing any similarities at all between Hi and Bora except that with the new development that looks like it will occur to Bora (making it a higher end type pool party, not sure if that is even confirmed?), the landscape of PDB is moving more towards what Vegas looks like with all higher end mega clubs (Ushuaia and HI) and what will be higher end pool parties with the changes to Bora and what goes on at Hard Rock. I just find the similarities to Vegas eerily similar. I know most people on this forum would agree in that they dislike this new wave of developments, it's more disappointing for me as its a long trip from New york and i know that based on whats going on there I likely would never step foot in PDB again. Now that may not necessarily even be a bad thing as i know there is so much more to the island than PDB, I dont think it will because it may not even be possible, i just hope it doesnt become the trend everywhere on the island. I'm also not trying to directly take shots at Hi, it can and may have some good parties in a brand new development, its just not my preference.
 
Hi still has underground lineups on the nights space had and cheese lineups on nights that weren't too popular, so I'm not concerned about it turning into vegas.

I have a personal feeling that Garrix won't be as popular that they're thinking...2 days is over exposure. He ain't on that Guetta level of cheese

Even as someone who does listen to a fair bit of it...agreed. And at least Guetta plays in two different places on the island, not 50 yards away!
 
keeping an open mind, I streamed some martin garrix and black coffee sets last night

i gave garrix about 18 seconds and black coffee about 90 mins. Deduce from that what you will..

According to RA, he's playing both Barcelona AND Ibiza on 28 May! it's just about doable but I hope there's a plan B if Vueling are as unreliable as they were last summer!
 
i heard that Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike will also join Hi, but way more interesting: something like 6 shows on sundays with Major Lazer.
And 6 shows with Luciano on the thursdays, more Underground acts for thursdays can be expected like Steve Lawler e.g.
