Tell us how it was - Ibiza 2025

Dates you were there -

July 14 - 20

Where you stayed -

Hotel Cenit Figueretas - second time staying here, nice cheaper close to figueretas beach and only a short walk to the old town. Nice friendly staff, nicer pool/bar/resturant. For the price it’s great value.

Club nights visited -

Pikes - great fun as always, best crowd.

528 - Sasha and Digweed, another great day/night with a fun crowd

Chinois - Trip, Honey Dijon, Claptone, my new fav club on the island, very underrated. Great sound system, great line ups, nice crowd, people there to dance and party not take photos, give it try.

Las Dallias - Hernan Cattanio, another underrated club, mainly locals and Europeans, fun hippy vibes. It’s a mission to get there but worth the effort if you want to try something different.

Cova Santa - woomoon, another underrated outdoor venue, fun vibes and cool music

Best/worst night - Sasha and digweed was the most fun, met a lot of fun people there. Best club for me is Chinios though, trip on Wednesday for Apollonia was brilliant.

Best beach - only went to cala Bassa beach and figueretas beach. Cala bassa very busy but nice.

Best restaurant - skinny kitchen figueretas

Best bar - bcb tango old town, fun staff

Money spent -😭

Biggest regret - probably not going to Amnesia but there was nothing on that really appealed to me.

Going back - no doubt

Observations/conclusions -
Try some different clubs for a more authentic experience, Ibiza not all about Hi and UNVARS commercial shiiite

Dates you were there: 16-21 July

Where you stayed: Vibra Calima - adequate for a cheap place but not for me anymore. My 'I'm going without the family so I'll be frugal' view has changed

Club nights visited: Clockwork at 528

Best night: Clockwork at 528 - impressive to still be able to pull that crowd, and not anything to do with the event that I almost left before my very good friend turned up.

Worst night: Clockwork at 528 - not their fault, it's just not for me anymore. Crowds in searing heat, ages to get a drink. Like the hotel thing, I'm used to a certain level of ease and comfort now

Best bar: Rooftop/pool at Blau Parc. Technically residents only, I'll probably stay there next time (have done before too)

Best place to eat: Breakfast at Kasbah, steak and eggs recommended.

Best beach and/or beach club: Calo Des Moro

Money spent: Not checked, but nothing shocking

Biggest regret: None

Going back?: Yes, with family

Top tip: There's a lot more than the clubs.

Observations and/or conclusion: When you are done with the clubs, you are done, but the magic is in the people, not the places, not the clubs, not even the drugs if that's your thing. My favourite parts of this trip was seeing a very good friend, and some lovely conversations with complete strangers.

Dates you were there: 12th - 16th July

Where you stayed: Gran Sol, San An for the first 3 nights, then moved to Rozell Boutique Hostel at the back of the West end for 1 night (so I could go to Sasha & Digweed). Gran Sol was perfectly decent and you can see why it is number 1 on Tripadvisor (for San An at least!). Friendly staff, reasonable drinks...and everything worked as it should do in the room. Rozell was a great little find as well...immaculate, smelled lovely and had all you need for a 1-night stay. Recommended.

Club nights visited: Pikes Saturday for Bushwacka, Carl Cox Universe with Joseph Capriati and Sam Paganini, 528 for Sasha and Digweed

Best night: For me personally, I think I enjoyed Carl Cox the most. Pikes was too rammed and hot to enjoy (also a massive queue to get a taxi home) and 528 was also bloody hot, even after the sun had gone down. Universe gets a lot of stick, but I was impressed. Air-conditioning was great, people were there to party...not that many phones in the air...amazing sound-system for the size of the venue. I did think that Sam Paganini went in a bit too hard as the warm-up though...absolutely pummelling techno before 1am! Joseph Capriati was better than I expected...

Worst night: No bad nights really...

Best bar: We found that the Bamboo bar just by the Blau Parc was pretty good...and stayed open later than most in that area...2am I think

Best place to eat: Tapas hands down. Amazing as always and have the most friendly and attentive staff...

Best beach and/or beach club: Didnt really do any beaches...had a wander up to Cala Gracionetta..very busy. Had a beer at the beach bar on Cala Gracio...9 euros for a large San Mig! I think that takes the p*ss for a beach bar in my opinion...

Money spent: Too much...

Biggest regret: I would have liked to stay longer and do some of the Clockwork stuff, also missed Jon Sa Trinxa playing his last set by a week or so. But you will always miss something good in Ibiza...you just have to be lucky

Going back?: Of course

Top tip: I would hesitate to go in July again, was way too hot. This was a bit of an ongoing theme throughout the trip...the weather was ridiculous. Apparently was a heatwave going on...very humid, broke out in a sweat as soon as leaving the room. I will stick with May/June and September in future.

Also, I managed to bag Business Class on the way home, with literally just the admin price to change flights (coming back on the Wednesday was a cheaper flight than the original Tuesday). If you can find a good deal to do this, I 100% recommend it. I had never flown Business from Ibiza before...you get the lounge at the airport, free food and drink, good air conditioning, comfortable seats etc. Then on the plane, better service, free food and drink again, champagne...loads of leg-room - fantastic! I had Fat Tony sat in front of me and he came across as a really nice guy...could have been a twat, but he had time for people who talked to him and very friendly.

Observations and/or conclusion: Ibiza changes, but the sun still always rises and sets at the end of the day....

How packed was Universe for Carl Cox?
I've got nothing to compare it to but seemed pretty full to me. We danced on the stairs at the back, the dancefloor in front of us looked packed. Never at any stage did it feel uncomfortable though....the Wild Comet room was pretty rammed though

In fact, you've reminded me, that's my regret. Work crisis the day I flew, had to work a 13 hour day from hotel room on the Thursday when I should have been on a lovely hike 😪
that’s was the part of the planned schedule that i was well jeal of 😩

Dates you were there: 17-22 July 2025

Where you stayed: Hotel Mim/Es Vive

Club nights visited: The Streets at Amnesia. Ocean Beach Fri, Sat, Sun and Monday.

Best night: Ocean Beach

Worst night: Amnesia. Too many lasers. The lights were blinding my eyes!

Best bar: Ocean Beach

Best place to eat: Ocean Beach

Best beach and/or beach club: Ocean Beach

Money spent: Not much. So many friendly men

Biggest regret: Bernadette got us both invited to a private party with Wayne L and I didn't go. I'd met a chap who looked just like my famous lover, and thought what the hell so went back to his place. His tastes were beyond what I am used to, even from my sinning days, and I will need to pray for forgiveness from Him. I'm sure a lovely cup of tea would with Wayne have been preferable and needed less penance. That said he clearly needs to put some signs up around his pool. Bernadette said she slipped over by it and can't sit down at all ever since. She had to inflate her life jacket on the plane and sit on it like a rubber ring. Scraped her elbows and knees in the fall too, the poor thing.

Going back?: Bernadette thinks her and Wayne may become an item, and apparently he said of course her twin sister can come and stay too! Isn't that so nice?!

Top tip: All the men in Ibiza are lovely. They'll even buy you drinks.

Observations and/or conclusion: Choose wisely. We didn't go to O Beach on Thursday or Tuesday, when looking back we should have!

Dates : 22 June - 1 July

Clubs visited : 10 in a row - I don’t even remember all of them :) Listing what I can recall .

Hotel : Garbi. Always . For 15 or 16th time in the last 7 years (less 2 years of Covid).

Unvrs - Cox opening party and Elrow. The club itself is really good. Smart design , great AC, parking , crowd - we liked everything. But the party itself was probably one of the worst musically - pretty boring. We will not do Carl anymore. Elrow was good .
Pacha - Carola. Just OK . Nothing spectacular. As always , overcrowded
DC - Circoloco was very good but Thursday’s Solid Grooves was a commercial shite - never again. And yes , overcrowded as always.
Chinois for Bedouin opening - we were there first time ever. The club was good and it was the best party musically.
Amnesia - three times . Ben Hemsley’s party was the worst - the light , the music , everything. I did suspect Ben would play crap , and he proved me right. Never again.
Hi Martinez , but we went for Paco . It was just OK , nothing special. I guess he is struggling with new grooves.

Best Night : Chinois Bedouin opening

Worst Night : Ben Hemsley at Amnesia

Best Beach and Club . We don’t go to day clubs snd prefer to drive to northern beaches like Aqua Blancas.

Best Restaurant: there is not one favourite, a few new ones and a few regulars. I would mention Vulldog in PDB , Es Tanco and Seu for pizzas, Es Mirador in Sant Carles .

Money spent: I recall the total spend was about euro 15,000 for two (flight, accommodation, food, clubs and some little shopping)

Biggest regret: Ben Hemsley- time and money wasted

Coming back : mid September

Observations: more police . We were stopped on our way to PDB coming from the north in direction to the airport , just out of the tunnel to the San Jose roundabout . The police searched our belongings and the car with a dog asking many times if we had drugs. We had to wait on the curb for about 15 minutes. Of course nothing , but the evening was spoilt a bit . First time in 8 years .

Sorry, fifteen THOUSAND euros on a holiday…..?!

Haven’t done one of these for a while but we value when other people do so here’s our ten pence:

Dates you were there:

Late Sunday 13th-Early Thursday 17th July

Where you stayed:

We stayed at Hotel THB Naeco Ibiza in San Antonio Bay. Really great hotel with huge rooms, great bathroom / shower and excellent breakfast. We switched last minute from Tagomago just due to a lower price per night and no penalty cancellation at Tagomago. We paid about £160 per night for 4 nights. Only downside is arriving at night THB Naeco is a little difficult to find with entrance through an alleyway between some shops but once you’re there it was excellent for the price.

Club nights visited:

Pikes “I Love Mondays” with Ken Fan and Shapeshifters (I think in Freddie’s)

Pikes Presents @ 528 Sasha & Digweed

Best night:

Pikes Presents @ 528 Sasha & Digweed

This was one of the best parties I’ve experienced in over 25 visits to the island since 2014 (and definitely the best day to night party we’ve been to) … the venue is pretty perfect now including space to dance, good crowd and sound system. After the main event finished at 2300 we spent a couple of hours chatting to randoms outside in the “magic tree” while Ken Fan and (Solomun’s twin brother - they look spookily alike much to my embarrassment) Ben Fhurst played some classic house and disco at low volume. We’ll be back for Bushwacka in September on the basis of our experience as I can’t recommend this party enough.

Worst night:

Wasn’t the best night at Pikes as musically not my thing but our friends loved it and we met some nice people (shout out to “Woody” and his wife if anyone knows them).

Best bar:

Went to Kumharas for Sunset before Pikes and it was a nice experience as we have never really bothered with sunsets before. Food offering from a couple of different food vans was ok too.

Best place to eat:

We ate at Pomelo Playa at Cala Gracio on Monday lunchtime and whilst it’s now pricey in line with Salinas venues like Jockey Club the food and service at least lived up to the pricing and setting.

Best beach and/or beach club:

See above Pomelo Playa

Money spent:

I reckon about £2400 all in

Biggest regret:

we went to Cafe Del Mar on our last night and whilst we had a nice time it was really poor food and service for €200 min spend per pair … probably expected that but went because a friend wanted to. Also crowd there for Clockwork Orange were pretty obnoxious and rude to Sarah in the queue for the toilets.

Going back?:

Back in early September for our usual stint in Ibiza Town

Top tip:

Mushroom chocolates are pricey but really added to the 528 Sasha & Digweed experience and fun! I’d forgot I’d taken it until I was halfway there in the taxi and thought wow I feel great and looked out the window and all the leaves on the trees had gone funny and blurred 😂

Observations and/or conclusion:

For our first stay in San Antonio Bay we had a great experience and really enjoyed being close to the beach so would definitely return to that area in the future.
