At least our group will know this time - we'll be a bit more canny about what times we use our passout (if at all).
Might be better to stay until midnight and then leave for obligatory Jet party - then back for the last few hours.

Overall I had a good time but I'm little disappointed in the fact that I didnt get to check out any of the big names that played from 8pm-4am

We enter Space at 1.30 and left between 9 and 9.30 pm for a pizza and a shower, but we had the same problems like thousands of other guys who want to re-entry

So we decide to join Wurstbrot and Danish and having our own private party @ Jet and Bora Bora ;)

What time are the clubs staying open till this year? I remember reading something on here about them being made to shut earlier.

How late does space go on till?

I left at 5 last year... thought it closed at 7.

Space...you can do it better than this..

Me and my (male) friend went to Space at 8 A.M sunday morning. It was my first time at Space A.M so I was quite thrilled to be there! When we got in, a girl gave me a wristband which said that I could re-enter the club later that day. I already knew this since I've read it on the internet the day before..but I asked her twice just to be on the safe side :)
My friend didn't get a wristband..he asked her why but she just laughed in his face and told him to go inside.
Neither of us wanted to make a big deal out of it so we dropped it and got in.
Stayed for only one hour or so and got home to get some sleep.

Around 9 P.M we headed back for Space. My friend without the wristband bought a new ticket and stood in the ticket line for only a few minutes or so..and then he got in.

Since there wasn't a separate line for the wristband holders, I chose the Internet line. I waited for 20-25 minutes but the line didn't move at all. There were about 10 ppl around me with wristbands and we all looked quite lost. Then, I asked the bouncer what to do, but he just yelled at me in bad English -It's full, over, the end..OK?

So there I stood, all alone. I felt the tears in my eyes and I was so, so sad. Sure, I've paid about 1200 euros for three days in Ibiza...but it wasn't about the money that night..For three months nothing but the Space opening was on my mind..and now everything was taken away from me. I felt like a nobody. Space didn't care about me at all, they didn't give a **** about my love for Space. The thing that still bothers me the most is that a lot of ppl were let inside during the time I stood in the line, without tickets or anything. The thing they had was the "right connections" or the fact that they probably gave the bouncer a blowjob last season.

Around 11 P.M, just when I was about to go home and kill myself or something, he just opened the entrance for us, and I got in!
I cannot describe the feeling...The same bouncer who two hours earlier told me to **** off suddenly let me in...haha. Strange...I guess he probably got tired of us.

During the following hours at Space I had mixed feelings about it all. But..then...around 1.30 A.M something happened...

STEVE F*CKING LAWLER!

The reason why I can look back at the Space opening with a smile on my face.

Well, all I can say is...It was definitely worth the 1200 euros..but that's because of Steve and my friends..Space really lost my love that night..I hope you'll find some way to get it back this summer! I'll be back!

So, I am back too ........

Okay, there were some problems, I agree with you but anyway the party`s were brilliant and I have so much fun .....

and the Jet and Bora Bora Party`s were cool too

Thank you all for the wonderful time ! See you next year ..... ;)

I have to dissagree with most of you... I really enjoyed the opening espacially the giddy vibe everyone had on the sunset terrace around 2pm, the amazingly beautiful people everywhere, the set by Tom Novy on the sunset terrace late the last half of sasha and digweed's set on through to the beginning of Carl Cox's set inside, it was an amazing party! There were a ton of people but what did you honestly expect?

This is the reason why I don't bother with WLS anymore either - far too busy, especially with fannies.

I was also one of the unfortunates that didn't get in with my wristband.

Originally walked in at 2pm, got the wristband, stayed in there for a few hours and left to go back to the hotel for a bit of a freshen up. Went back at 9pm......queued for neary three hours and moved about 3 metres. By midnight couldn't bear it anymore and f***ed off to Bora Bora etc.
Was gutted as it was my first time in Ibiza and we booked for that week especially for space opening.

The most unforgiveable thing is that there ws no security making the sure STAYED as a Queue. There were more people Q-barging close to the gates than there were people actually going into the club and Security did absolutely nothing about it. It got to the point wereI had to leave the Queue rather than beat the F*** out of one of the queue bargers.
To add insult, when I walked in in the afternoon, security made me check in my digital camera (to my cost...of course) and I couldn't reclaim it until space re-opened ....which was right at the end of my holiday!:spank:

Real shame though as the (brief) time that I was in there was one of the best clubbing experiences that I have had. Loved it! Am going back in Sep, but will be a bit more Savvy.

I agree, Space is full of complete fannies. Where are all these friendly beautiful people everyone always speaks of? I find about 95% of the Space punters to be arrogant coked up tossers.

The day clubs seem so much better, as is Carl Cox (bar closings). Sundays at Space is just a nightmare now and the music policy seems geared for people who don't really know that much about music. Bland and predictable. One of those places for people who like to 'be seen'. I love Space as a venue but can't stand it when it's this busy.

fundamentally disagree with you on so many levels. yeah i hate it when its busy too but if you know what you're doing then you know how to play it to ensure you're night isn't spoilt.

music policy has actually become more and more diverse over the years (with the addition of different areas), so disagree that its bland and predictable. anyhow, if you like 'terrace music', whats wrong with being able to hear it when you go there. same as 'that pacha sound', its been the essence of the club for a decade.

space has always been a place for people who like "to be seen", that whole trashyness and wearing of sunglasses and no dress code is what makes it a unique party.

I don't find any arrogance there, infact Ibiza doesn't have the "mad" people like it use to.

Where have all the beautiful people gone?

Or do you think when you have been going to Ibiza for so long, you get use to the crazyness/beauty and it just becomes normal to you? I think I have answered my own question!

what you said:lol:

well im hardly a space person, but i just find the other venues in ibiza so much more welcoming and friendly. i love space, but i hate having noses turned up at me. perhaps i should lose some weight, grow a mullet, and get a permatan. suppose i look like a chav to most of them. think i'll take stu hirst's advice, sharpen my elbows, and go in there with my full on barge folk out the way approach that seems to be the norm.

oh to fit in with the trashy space-cadets... i long for the day.

when i said trashy, i meant in that it seems that way, but thats all part of the vibe at space. non-trashy people taking the pi$$ a bit and just being a bit different to how they might be in a club at night or how a british club is. the people who go aren't trashy, they're jsut letting their hair down a bit

also remember that space is one of the clubs that doesn't solely attract a british crowd.

i always find people at space friendly, never really noticed a difference there from anywhere else.
