Space Closing 2016

Im sure it will be ok :oops: it wasn't supposed to be an attack just an observation and then an explanation of opinions... I do apologise if it has been taken any other way :p
 
never got to the closing as was there mid sept, watched a lot of sets on be-at tv wishing i was there. i said my goodbye to space after coxy 13th sept, came out of the club n just stood in the car park looking at it thinking thats the last time i'll be in space with a lump in my throat, been going from 03 & don't think i'll set foot in the new place!
 
Heres an observation. Erick Morillo, i thought he was some sort of recovering alcoholic and what not? Watching Roger Sanchez's set and at the start Morillo's swaying around all over the shop in the background clutching what looks like a bottle of hierbas :lol:

Nah, he was addicted to ket. Not sure booze is the best solution to that though!

to link what was said re: Craig David, Tinie Temoah etc to Space Closing, I don't think it was about Craig David and Tinie Tempah in terms of purely music but all the bling culture and EDM is now taking over what was once a place where shutting down Space would be unthinkable.The people whose culture is house and techno, raving, dancing etc are being forced to adapt.. Why can't the other cultures get a new place? I'm not blaming fans of this btw they are just trying to have a good time too. But if EDM, VIP and bling hadn't expanded in Ibiza the way it had, ushuiaia would maybe still be a cool little beach bar and we'd maybe all be going to Space next year... who knows?

Agree 100% we are tolerating it more than enough. . Afterparty shutdowns, beach club shut downs. Space gone. Etc

Cannot stand the mainstream, even at home in the UK I hate the radio. Godbless the Ibiza Sonica app

Thought id check out his set from the discoeteca cause that was later on and he would surely be more spangled haha he looks like he put his life and soul into the set and he was totally vibing it hard. When he drops Winks 'Freak' Winks at the side with the BIGGEST smile ever. Thats a 'Space' moment right there.
 
Anyone having withdrawal symptoms from last Sunday I recommend you check out this documentary from Global Underground about Sasha in Ibiza. Some classic Space footage and a younger Pepe (from 13 minutes in to about the 20 min mark)

Only recently found out it's available on my sonos. Have it on all the time. For me it's the best radio station. Love it!
 
i have downloaded the sets from tranceaddict (i think) and have them in the car on repeat - ah the memories!

shots have indeed been fired ha! ;) but in the interests of keeping the thread focused i shall let them on by! :spank::p:):D

no... must resist.... ok just one riposte. this year's craig david fan is next year's cream fan... maybe we start a new thread for this ;)

A week on... it dont get any easier does it !!! Still listening to sets all day at work. Unbelieveable really, such a poignant moment in my life even though i wasn't there to experience it first hand. The footage alone is powerful enough to have such an effect on you.

Im really looking forward to hearing news of what happens in the future for the Space brand firstly then what happens to the building formerly known as Space....

Ohh downloads I like , will have a look!! Did continplate buying the sets of eBay or ripping them but currently sat trying to repair the Mac Closing sets would be great for the car. Currently still listening to Space 1996 By Alfredo as it's our standard going to Ibiza Cd & wanna keep that feeling. Also the only regret I have from the closing (other than not making it all the way to the end of course) is not seeing Alfredo's set in the car park.

How do you download the sets/find them! I've been on what I think is tranceaddict and it's not very clear! A link would be very helpful
