Space Closing 2016

I can't forget another mention to a genuine legend in white isle calling bringing me my ticket to my hotel, seemed a really nice guy to.
I know he lost his phone on the journey over :spank: so no doubt once he's home and sorted a phone he'll be back here posting.

Kind of glad it is over. Had some great times there back in the days and the first years of Bora Bora were great to.
House music is big business these days and big business attracts a lot of people who are there for the wrong reasons.
Guess for people who know the whole story of Space and other places on the island it s just a bit different.

As much as I am so sad about Space I kind of agree with you. I'm glad it ended while I still loved it there. When challenged on my opinion of people being there for the wrong reasons (I was being pretentious and snobby) I used this analogy - when the football team you have supported for years have just made it to the premiere league for the first time there are loads of new faces, maybe you will struggle to get a ticket, the atmosphere changes. When the team are back in the bottom two and likely to go down the packed stadium becomes more and more empty.. How do you feel about those people who jumped on the bandwagon then? If you want to get involved that's great but don't be there for the wrong reasons. I met some lovely people at Space closing and it was their first time there, which is a good thing for our culture to continue. But the hoards of helmets descending on PdB lately, going to see Tinie Tempah ffs? And Example??? I mean I'm sorry but they've got Ayia Napa for that bollox. PdB is done now.. It's a shame Sankeys isn't elsewhere

I'm all but done for clubbing in Ibiza to be fair, bar cocoon and Sven but I'm happy about that.
After getting smashed last night and having time to reflect I've no regrets regarding space.
I'm sad it's gone but I've had plenty of non clubbing trips including out of season and look forward to enjoying Ibiza for what it is again
That and I'm defo too old to deal with the recovery of a clubbing holiday
Already looking at flights for next year, can't wait to be back!!!

Gonna miss that sound system big time. Was out last night & my ears are still ringing like a bitch. Never had that after spending hours & hours in Space... Space was so much loader clearer defined as well!!

If I don't have at least foam earplugs I don't go into a club these days simple as that. Just not worth spending the next two days wondering if the ringing is going to stop or whether it's here to stay this time ..... few years back it was still going a week later and thought I'd pushed my luck one time too many. Do need a real kick up the bum sometimes to self-regulate  ... but once I take something properly on board I usually stick to it !

Not forgetting the Craig David crew, f*** off the lot of yaaaaaasssss
that is the complete opposite of what ibiza has always been about. sorry ollie, i don't mean to single you out, because there were a couple of comments about different musical directions, but seriously... chill dude. ibiza = tolerance. always has been. hopefully always will be :)

please keep this thread space closing related only - it's the longest thread in the history of spotlight!

I thought I did well not to mention hurachies and shuffling to.
Telling off taken  lol.

Being back at my desk today is not a fun situation but I still cant get over how good this was! Eats b2b Yousef was one of the highlights for me the Terrazza was in full swing with unreal vibes! Would do anything to go back and do it all over again!!
Yeah my standout set too, just what we wanted after a couple of hours chilling in premier etage!

No disrespect but Im not sure Ibiza = tolerance as can be seen in 'what the locals think' thread in Ibiza Open Chat lol
to link what was said re: Craig David, Tinie Temoah etc to Space Closing, I don't think it was about Craig David and Tinie Tempah in terms of purely music but all the bling culture and EDM is now taking over what was once a place where shutting down Space would be unthinkable. The people whose culture is house and techno, raving, dancing etc are being forced to adapt.. Why can't the other cultures get a new place? I'm not blaming fans of this btw they are just trying to have a good time too. But if EDM, VIP and bling hadn't expanded in Ibiza the way it had, ushuiaia would maybe still be a cool little beach bar and we'd maybe all be going to Space next year... who knows?
