Space Closing 2016

You guys are really brave. I just got back today, and i don't think I'll be able to watch any of the videos or sets, for at least a few more weeks...

I'm in a similar position to you... really hit it ridiculously hard at Music On, Ushuaia and Space and I've been paying the price since Monday afternoon. Still not in any position to look back and reminisce as of yet.

Ive had the various sets playing continuously for the last 2 days now.

loving the song selections from everyone. Sat here with a smile on my face remembering how bloody good it was.

The Shazam auto function has been a life saver too. added so much music to my collection.

All i have done since Monday is listen to the sets over and over again.... Still not bored. Probably the best night of music my ears have ever heard by a country mile. Only proper Ibiza heads and music lovers will get our love for Space.... Everyone else can go f**k themselves

I planned on going to the first part of Music on, but was half dead from afterlife closing...
Saturday was always going to be a day off, and I'm glad I didn't break, because from Space closing and onwards things got a bit crazy... including cocoon afters, mosaic closing (had to go for Koze who was brilliant) and Hyte. :D

Bloody hell what a night can honestly say that was the finest night out I've ever had the music was superb.

Got there at 730 and was queueing for over two hours even though I had a ticket. People without tickets were getting in much quicker left a lot of people pissed off almost the sense that well we already have their money get the rest in.

Anyway got in just after 930. Caught some of Steve lawler and tale of us who were good. Went through to catch the start of David morales who was excellent. Went to see Carl Craig and josh wink who were banging. Then Sasha played the set of the night that man is a legend he should have had 2 hours. Watched most morillo and then went to see yousef b2b eats everything and maceo plex who tore the place a new one picked me up as I was flagging by 7. Wasn't impressed with Solomon so went to see cox b2b with fanculli best decision ever. They were superb. Classic after classic the reaction at 10am to Carl cox playing cafe deal mar is something I won't ever forget.

Made it till 11 was just making my way out into the sunset terrace and njoi and them came on brilliant. Managed another half an hour . I thought this will go onto late afternoon and didn't have it in me to last that long so gutted I heard it finished at 12.

I expected this to be a top draw night but it was much better the atmosphere was unreal and the music couldn't be any better. It was mega busy but no more than I really expected. Wish I could do it again!!!!

Got back on Wednesday, been in tears ever since. Just a huge thank you to Paul Reynolds for playing all the tracks that got me into this, so many tracks that have been so infulencial in my life. If you ever read this Paul, thanks, thanks for the memories.

I never thought I would see out the last 6 hours of space in the sunset terrace, but my god, I couldnt leave.... what a party everyone, I am sure we all agree!

RIP Space

What a party loved it, miss it!! Will be a huge loss space gone, but ibiza will still be great there are still good underground parties. I Wish so bad i was standing in the queue now waiting to go in... I had an incredible night and great memories on sunday. I have also had the best nights of my life in my favourite club that is or Was space....gutted!!

What's everyone's opinion on Fancuilli helping close Space? I'm listening to it now on Be-At TV. I don't mind fancuilli but don't think he was the right person to close alongside Coxy. His music is too dark and driving, not what the last few hours should have been about IMO. I remember thinking this at the time and watching it back is even more apparent for me. Cox brings in a bouncy classic and Fancuilli leads on with a dark mind-warper!!

Watching the last. Few hours of Cox's own night was pure magic. I wish it was just him Monday morning ☹️

I think we all had a bit of a fill of Coxy on his own when he played a 10-hour recorded set a few days earlier. I'm no Fanciulli fan but I think some relief from bouncy classics isn't a bad thing - the Sunset Terrace by all accounts was non-stop bouncy classics so there was plenty of that going in the final hours.

Did no one see Joseph Capriati at the closing :)?
I've also read that Solomun was a little bit over the edge :D?
The Timetable also start early to be not in time.

But big respect to you guys! Ive tried to stay from 4pm till the end. But my body passed out after 8hrs.. it was to busy for me. The stress for me walking from one stage to another was to much. In front of the stage at the flight area was enough space. But you need 15min back to the toilets with a lot of pushing. Going in from outside, on the way to the premiere etage was horrible. At the corner of the pizza stand the people where pushing hard.

I have some troubles with my hip and tried to take a seat. Impossible. And if you try to sit down on a wall a bouncer chased you away.

Also the air to breath if you was stuck between people was horrible.

We went on monday to Circoloco, but both rooms where rammed with people.

I think i am to old for that now. I was full of expectations and motivation, but at the end it was just pure stress for me.

I can completely relate - believe it or not when I was younger I was even less tolerant of crowds and pushing than I am now, but these days I just know that unless you're ready and willing to pay the price it's better to stay away. Excessive people is the only thing which spoils the closings for me, the parties are a victim of their own success and in every other way they are probably some of the best (music, excitement, extended hours etc.).

With enough but not too many people the atmosphere is still as amazing but you don't have to suffer so much moving around, or hunt so hard for a decent (or sometimes any reasonable) spot. I had one of my worst EVER clubbing experiences at an overcrowded Circo Loco closing party, truly horrendous, and paying closing season prices for the last few hours when things are generally better isn't something I'm in a great rush to do again. Not taking anything away from closings for people who are tolerant of very busy venues but as I've said before, they are not for everyone and if they're not for you it's good to realize that at some point and work around other dates !

Don't think the t-shirt at size S is much use to me though. Unless I go all Freddie Mercury next time I do the hoovering.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: If you're not able to wear it I'll happily take it off your hands as it's my size - PM me !

Doesnt matter how many times i watch the Be@ Tv coverage, i still sit here in disbelief that it was the last time we ever saw Space Ibiza. The more i watch the more upsetting it gets, i just cant believe how much Space closing has gripped me and messed with my feelings and emotions like this for so long, ive been like it for 2 weeks now. Absolutely addicted to anything i can read, watch or listen to about Space. Its like my normal life is on hold whilst im in a trance!

Gutted aint even the word to describe how im feeling about this...

Did everyone get a size small vest? I loved mine but I had to laugh when my bf pulled his bright red size small vest out of the bag! Also did everyone get a CD from circa 2007? I'm thinking this era's popular electro house sound is a bit dated and they had a few CD's to get rid of hehe although I'm loving the nostalgia of listening to Samim - Heater and Axwell - I found you! I haven't listened to mine yet but it's more chilled.

Just watched josh wink back...so funny at the start when carl craig won't step back and cut his last track! Josh Wink far too nice and polite!

During all the madness I forgot to buy a Space 27 shirt! Tried to buy it on the club website but unsure if it's still working. Does anyone know if I can still get my hands on one!?
