Sankeys Open New Club in Ibiza

Having lived and gone out clubbing in Manchester for the past 10 years I really really hope they do a better job of running the Ibiza club than they do of running the Manchester version. Best club in the world my arse!!! They just ran a massive promotional campaign to get the votes in for their below average club
I have to disagree....
I spent many a night at Tribal Sessions and the Redlight when Sankeys reopened late 99 (ish).... amazing memories!! One thing I can say about the Sankeys team is that they are passionate about dance music and they know how to throw a party.
If Dave Vincent and Greg Vickers are involved then I will def give it a go..... running the club every night would be a concern however but I think people should be open to new experiences rather than the "same old" that we all seem to get stuck on when referencing Ibiza.
Ibiza consistently evolves (that's why it remains the most important venue in terms of dance music culture), would be nice if Sankeys managed to make an impact this year, whoever they are up against on whatever night.
We should support new ventures, else the spirit of house music will get lost in mass commercialization (if that's even a word
)!!
Either way, have a feeling its gonna be a good season...... ENJOY!!

Sankeys set up shop in Ibiza
Sankeys have unveiled plans for a new club in Ibiza, set to open its doors on Thursday, May 26th.
The Mancunian mega-club outlined details for the venue in a statement sent out this week. Located in Playa d'en Bossa, the club will have four main areas: a basement, a boutique, something called Spektrum and, naturally, a terrace. Monza Ibiza have been confirmed for the club's first residency. A former staple of Privilege, Monza have been without a home after their residency at Cova Santa fell apart last summer, leaving them to share the Space terrace with Come Together. As is their tradition, Monza will take care of Thursday nights on a weekly basis.
Sankeys Ibiza opens at the end of this month with three back-to-back parties, from Thursday the 26th through Sunday the 28th. The bill for the weekend includes Butch, Nima Gorji, John Dahlbäck and Alex Niggemann among others. After that, the club will close until June 22nd, and from there it will run every night until October 4th.
According to Sankeys, the new club is phase three of their "mission" to establish "Seven Sankeys of the World," with a New York location due to open by the end of this year. Club owner David Vincent, who got his feet wet in Ibiza promoting for Pacha in the '80s, had this to say:
"This really is a new beginning for the club, me as an individual and a pivotal time for Sankeys as we take Sankeys to NYC and continue to build on what we have created over in Manchester too."

Just wondering if anyone has been yet? Interested to see what the sound system, club decor etc is like.......... Pretty sure the music will be bang on, I like the line ups so far.
Only concern could be that the lower entry prices could draw in the wrong crowd. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about lower prices and I'm hope I'm wrong but I fear putting on a different night every night will mean the club has to drop prices if they are going to compete with the big boys thus meaning the atmosphere could suffer as a result.

i was there on thursday for butch and barem etc, it was really good. The main room is quite like the manchester one, i didnt go in the other rooms apart from the roof terrace. they were using the void speakers they have at DC10 and Bora Bora but i think they are using different ones when they open in june. they also have a bodykinetic dance floor the same as matter which is good! defo looking forward to going back in june for monza!
Love those Void speakers! I think there is a rental company in Ibiza that supplies systems for one off parties like the beach ones at Sands so would t be surprised if they are using that kit temporarily. Can't wait to check Sankeys out!
