San Antonio or Playa de bossa

There will be other people with more insight/information to offer than Myself as I have only been to Ibiza 3-4 times. However, I have stayed in both resorts so I do have some idea.

San Antonio for me is more the heart of The Island. There are nicer restaurants, nicer bars and overall a nicer atmosphere. You have Cafe Mambo and the rest of the sunset strip which for me is a absolute MUST on every visit. However, San Antonio is the opposite side of the Island from most of the decent clubs (Amnesia, Space, DC10, Pacha, Ushuaia). Your looking at around 15 minutes to get to Amnesia and then perhaps 20-25 to get to Space, Sankeys, Ushuaia and DC10. I usually stay here if I am doing a week+length holiday where I don't need to be trekking around in taxis all the time.

Playa Den Bossa - If your looking for convenience then this is the resort for you. Still a reasonable selection of restaurants and bars, but for me it lacks atmosphere. However, the main draw for me is being walking distance to Space, Sankeys and Ushuaia. You can also get to DC10 in a taxi within 5 minutes and Amnesia is only around 10-15 minutes away. For me personally, if I'm coming for a shorter stay (long weekends etc) I will stay here to save on taxis etc.

In summary.... I would recommend San Antonio as the nicest resort and if your not bothered about taxis. Playa Den Bossa if you just want to be on the doorstep of the big clubs and that is your top priority.

Stayin in pbd for 1st time this year. Always done san antonio b4 and its great with loads of bars, restaurants and daytime activities. As above said tho all big clubs are opposite side of island. Bus service is good to get to ushuaia during day tho. Just need to weigh up where you will spend most of your time.

Only other thing to mention is PDB beach is better than any of San An's local ones.

PDB beach is nice, but the water is absolutely not as clear as other beaches. Next to San Antonio there are some of the nicest beaches in my opinion (cala conta, cala salada, cala tarida, cala bassa...)

I agree, I was thinking more of the ones on your doorstep like the one opposite Eden and the bits dotted around the bay.

haha lots of discussion previously on here about this. Lots of differing views!

gooner has put it nicely earlier in this thread though.

One thing I do know, you won't find a bigger supporter of PDB than our very own Dirk. You won't ever see him in Mambos either.;)

Thank you for the reply guys. Im easily convinced so i guess San Antonio is what im looking for. Now im just gonna book my accommodation. I just need to know how much damage it will have on my bank account. So for 5 days would £3000 be alot or not enough? That doesn't include the flights and accommodations.

wasn´t there a post from stivi and/or mcrackin some time ago which listed a dozen (of the bazillions) of sanan vs pdb-threads ?

Where are you flying from - allowing say even half for flights and digs then £1500 is more than enough to have a whale of a time over 5 days.

Im flying from Australia. I have like 11 days in europe with a budget of about £8000 all the flights are sorted all i was worried about was the accommodation part.

Yeah it can be, although plenty of bargains to be found, and it depends how fancy you want the place to be. Some of the best places to stay are amongst the cheaper options (relatively speaking).

When will you be here?

Think of PDB as coming as a package with Figueretas and Ibiza Town (both walkable) and it's a no brainer. The only thing San An has going for it really is the 'guilty pleasure' of the west end imo.
