This says you get a fine up to €15,000 if you stay 30 mins late.

between €15,000 and €30,000 if you stay open 30mins to 1 hour late

and between €30,000 and €60,000 if you stay opne more than 1 hour late.

Bar licences are 8am to 3am.

One bar I know was helping a girl who was getting attacked outside the bar, they brought her inside the bar until the police arrived as the attacker was loitering outside. When the cops came, they took the girl home and issued the €15,000 to €30,000 fine to the bar for being open. :?:x

the smallest fine is more than the bar earns in one summer.

So next summer all pubs and bars (including those located in West End) will shut down at 3am?

Am I right?

Marketing Plan

The municipal of San Antonio was, not surprisingly, the first to act to the news of the possible arrival of 15,000 pensioners from across Europe to the island ...
... the Town Hall revealed that a marketing plan had already begun which would outline
why the municipality should receive the pensioners,
which are due to arrive from this November, according to plans unveiled by the Island Council the previous week in a joint press conference with the Balearic employment minister, Margarita Najera...
Several days after the San Antonio meeting, the tourist department of San Jose met with business representatives from Cala de Bou and the bay area. Afterwards the councillor for tourism, Maria Angeles Mostazo, said that she hoped the two municipalities (San Antonio and San Jose) would be able to join forces to try and capture the proposed 15,000 tourists from Europe which the Balearic Government are hoping to bring from January 2009 ...

unbelievable - some of ibiza´s people in charge are probably dumb as **** !

ALL pensioners for mallorca -
ZERO pensioners for ibiza !!

Government Turnaround

There was outrage on the island as the minister for tourism at the Balearic Government,
Miquel Nadal, confirmed the project to bring European pensioners to the island
had been cut back and would now only include Palma.

The turnaround comes after the then minister for employment, Margarita Najera,
announced back in August plans for the project which would bring 100,000 European
seniors to the Balearics, 15,000 of which would be sent to Ibiza.
She confirmed one area would be trialled on the island,
with the bay of San Antonio and es Canar the favourites.

However, Nadal announced on Friday, to the disappointment of many,
that the plans had changed and the pilot project had been reduced
to include just the port area of Palma.
He added that if the plan was a success a total of one million visitors would be brought
to Spain in 2010, 500,000 of whom would be diverted to the Balearics.

Meanwhile, the president of the Hotel Federation on the island
was less than impressed by the turnaround,
claiming it was time Mallorca began treating their smaller neighbour with more respect.

comment wasn´t about ibiza but the silly fight between "some balearic islands" !

that "... ibiza is not putting anything behind promoting something
that doesnt benefit the island" and "... if its *expanded* from just being mallorca
then they will back" wasn´t the point - apart from that is probably clear as **** .

talking about alternative tourist models..... from the ibiza sun again:

Golf Course Gets Go-Ahead

The Town Hall of San Antonio has given the go-ahead to the property developers, Andria Inversiones Inmobiliarias SA, to start initial applications for the building of a golf course in Benimussa. The rubber stamp comes on the back of remarks made by the mayor, Jose Sala, in his election speech that he would like to see more golf courses and the higher quality of tourist that this type of project would bring. The proposed site for the course will be in the area surrounding Ses Paises, Can Tomas and Benimussa. However, Sala confirmed that it will not include the Puig den Llucs zone, an area protected against the building of golf courses. When asked about the potential size, he confirmed that nothing had yet been decided, but that it would have to be at least the minimum permitted for a golf course which currently stands at 600,000 square metres.

The company, Andria Inversiones Inmobiliarias SA, confirmed that they had so far verbally secured almost 500,000 square metres of land and were in talks with other land owners. The company also revealed that the plans include the building of a 5-star hotel, with a capacity for 450 people, which would be open all year round. The cost of the golf course will be between 100-150 million euros and, if everything goes smoothly, could be a reality within three years. The company is owned by the controversial American businessman Marc Rich (which he most certainly is). The 73-year-old businessman has spent 18 years of his life fleeing from the American justice system, after he was accused in the early 1980´s of the biggest tax evasion in history. He was also accused of ignoring the Iranian oil embargo of the same period. Between 1983 and 2001 he was among the FBI`s 10 most wanted list, with a reward for his capture of 750,000 dollars offered at the time. His problems came to an end in 2001 when Bill Clinton, in one of his final acts as president, controversially granted Rich an official pardon. The businessman has had Spanish nationality since 1982, and is considered one of the biggest oil transporters in the world. He owns over 50 companies all over the world. Rich owns a house on the island where he spends his summers.

Golf Delay

The company interested in building a golf course within San Antonio announced
on Monday they would not, for the moment, be going ahead with the project.

The representative of Andria Inversiones Inmobiliaria, Carlos Greght, confirmed that after a meeting with the new environment minister at the Consell Insular, Albert Prats, the project had been put on hold. He said the minister had made it clear permission would not be granted for the project, but had not given his reasons for such an opinion. Greght said he was dismayed at the short-sightedness of the decision, and claimed he had been expecting to receive the green light to begin initial plans.

The project would have meant an investment of over €100m in the 18-hole golf course, which would have included a five-star hotel, open all year round. Greght revealed the complex would have given work to around 300 people and would have signified a measure of investment in the island as a whole. He added that it would have been a good opportunity to attract a tourist with a much higher disposable income than normal, and would have benefited a great deal of businesses.

The project had originally been planned for Benimussa, and Greght confirmed pre-contracts had already been drawn up with several land owners in the area giving the company 500,000 m2 of the 600,000 m2 minimum needed to build a course in Europe.

The Consell released a statement the following day claiming anyone who wished to apply for permission for a golf course was free to do so. However, they hinted they did not consider such a project to be to the benefit of the island.

The Hotel Federation also entered the debate, with the president pleading with the Consell to reconsider its position on the subject. Roberto Hortensius claimed the association's relationship with the new PSOE-run Consell was a good one and the previous problems, encountered with other socialist run Consell was a thing of the past. However, he did ask the administration to contemplate allowing a new golf course to be built, and said it would be extremely beneficial for the island. Hortensius claimed his association would never support a course built in a green area, like Cala d´Hort, but said they were in favour of the construction of a course in mature tourist destinations, such as San Antonio and Playa den Bossa.

It will be interesting to see if the Consell has a change of heart over the next four years,
as support grows from all corners for a new course to be built on the island.

New Plans
The Town Hall of San Antonio approved its new Land Use Plans on Wednesday, finally deciding not to include a golf course. The plan will now go on display in order that the general public is able to object to anything it feels is unfair.
Despite having previously voiced its support of the building of a course in the municipality, Sala's team have chosen not to include the project as they know it would not get the approval of the Island Council, which, on repeated occasions, has declared its opposition to such projects.
However, Councillor Josefa Costa was quick to point out that although no official space was being reserved for a golf course, she would always welcome such a project.
The Town Hall has in fact received plans to build a golf complex, including a 5-star hotel, in Benimussa, but after the Island Council made it clear the project would not get its seal of approval, it was decided to discard the idea, for the time being at least.
The Plan also considers an extension to the current port area, which Costa was quick to point out would mean there would not be a marina built in the ses Variades area (contrary to what they wanted to do in the past - McR), but that the size of the current marina would be increased to enable the municipality to receive even larger cruise ships, and allow berthing for around 300 more recreational boats. The mayor, Jose Sala, hopes this will put a stop to boats being able to anchor all over the bay area.

New Build
Club Nautico in San Antonio will finally build a new social centre following much debate about the original plans. The original project intended to modify the current building, making it slightly bigger. However, it has now been decided it would be easier to demolish the existing centre and start again.
The centre, which contains the bar and restaurant, as well as offices, will be designed by the same architect responsible for the original building, Javier Planas, which was completed in 1996.
The new plans are ready and will be sent to the Port Authority later this week for approval, after which time they will be put on public display towards the end of February, with Planas hoping work can begin once the 2009 tourist season has ended.
Planas explained that the original idea had been to add to the existing building. However, it was decided that due to the fact the construction is supported on structures anchored to the sea bed, it would be a better idea to demolish the existing building and construct new supports for the building.
The new centre will have a surface area of around 500m2, slightly more than the existing building, but it will also be built on two floors. The managing director of Club Nautico, Joan Vicent Roselló, explained it would have a limited visual impact thanks to the use of windows, with the southern-side completely made up of glass.

Port HQ
The new building planned by the Port Authority in San Antonio will be built on the site of the old structure, after plans were approved last week. The building, opposite Club Nautico and next door to Pussycat Bar, will cost a total of €600,000 and take up 400 m2 of space, which is exactly the same as the existing property. However, this does not include the demolition costs to the present structure which are estimated to be in the region of €400,000.
Currently the building contains several offices and an apartment, but the new port headquarters will be dedicated solely to office space and will include a meeting room. A spokesman for the project said the new building would ensure the Port Authority were able to give a comprehensive service to both users and tourists. He continued that the only change to the current building would see the ground floor reduced somewhat, at the request of the Town Hall, to ensure the pavement can be enlarged.
The project has been designed by the office of Torres and Planas, who are also responsible for the design of Club Nautico which is set to be rebuilt over the next 18 months.
