So then, i'll admit, i went awol, but i thought i'd get the ball rolling on the user reviews.

Party/Event: Cocoon Opening 2009!!

Club: Amnesia

Date: 15th June 2009

DJs: Main Room - Sven, Chris Tietjen. Terrace - Ricardo, Cassy

Cost of entry (Also, how you got in/where you got tix from, etc): free of course ;), but presale tickets were 40 euro and the door was about 60.

Cost of drinks: no idea sorry, was knocking some free champers!!

Transport (how you got there and back, how much it cost, where from and to): by car, managed to find a place to park (by chance) in the main car park

Review (50-300 words, more if it's really well written):

So then, firstly excuse the lack of photos, you know how amnesia are......and i was also too busy dancing. But i had a great time at Cocoon opening, word on the street was that Cocoon sales were slow and i wondered whether the bubble had burst somewhat.

However, when i arrived at about 3, the club was really busy in both rooms and the VIP was, as always for cocoon, full to bursting. In the main room, Christ Tietjen was dropping Research by Markus Fix, so a really housey tip before Sven came along and gave his usual mixed bag of weird and wonderful electronic music, including as always lots of epic proggy type of bliss.

Then came the terrace and Cassy playing the funkiest, sleaziest, rockin berlin deep house around. In fact, it was very much more house than you might expect from the panoramabar resident, playing Nick Curly's 'Say Something' and looping the crowd into frenzy with the first half of Reboot's 'Ronson'. As much as I appreciate everything that Ricardo encompasses and stands for, i have to say i've personally never really got him entirely, kind of like how i'm equally amazed and confused by jackson pollack's art.

anyway, after what was a brilliant set by cassy, it was all downhill after that for me. BUT, cocoon is back, the doubters can be assured of that and if the music for the opening is anything to go by........HOUSE MUSIC RULES OK!!!

Nice review - but you do sound a bit like Michael Winner!;):p

VIP, Free Entry, Champagne Blah Blah Blah Blah. Is it not missing the point? Bring back '88 I say.

The more I read this the more annoyed I get that Ibiza has become over run with pretentious wanna be's.

would have loved to have gone when the roof was off. Its a ****ing shame its 50 to get in. Its really steep

i think there is a bit of tongue in cheek pisstaking from stella here. it's kind of her job to get in free and report about the nights.

I don't mind paying the money for a night like that - where else are you going to get an amazing lineup in a club like Amnesia on a monday anywhere else in the world?

Cocoon is the only club night in Ibiza I would happily pay 50 Euro entry for.

Wahh wahh wahhhh, "free entry, i got free champers dahhhling" "VIP Area you know" "I saw A, B and C, they spoke to ME" "I danced with X, Y and Z, Z even offered me back to his villa"

Next time do us all a favour and leave the reporting to someone who can tell us something mildly interesting!

This little "Review" encapsulates all thats wrong with Ibiza. Its all about what you can get for nothing and who you can brag to as opposed to actually enjoying yourself

well yeah - I thought back in the days it was about everyone in together on the dancefloor. Now its about VIP this, exclusive that. But I got nailed for referring to this a while ago!

your right Neilly to a degree. DC10 was relatively cheap in comparison.

Fabric is £15 a night and you get similar names. Your right tho the best night on the island

Neilly - thats you opinion. Seemed a fine place to me and less than half the price of the mammoth Space and I got to see Luciano and co

jaja! can't believe some of you took the bait so easily. ;)

i think you'll find most of my review explains how much i did enjoy the night and particularly, the music.

I've been umming and arrring about Covoon or not only because of the sheer amount of people that nearly crushed me to death last time ... I'd decided to do As One instead and possibly on to Cocoon later or just not bother with Cocoon but now I really wanna go... the question is will I be crushed to death??

I think the Classics night will be the busiest night they have all season - remember underworld are playing live - i think that night could be busier than the closing party!

I'm there the week of classics so possibly the Monday will be a bit quieter hmm...I'm gutted RV wont be there as it seems I'm the only person who likes him while all the people who don't have had to endure his weirdness lol I thought I had my week planned .. maybe I should leave it till 2 weeks before lol

vip shiet sucks...have you ever seen a vip area in dc10...lol...real party people dont caaaare about that vip shiet, just enjoying yourself, so cocoon...you and your VIP`s go to hell, you won`t see any more dime from me....
