The kind of restaurant that can take the whole june off because they don't depend on tourists to work. Doing so the staff is happy as they can spend a month on holidays during the summer while everybody else is working, no wonder it's the same staff year after year. Their clientele (mostly locals) is busy working and wouldn't go anyway... it's different in july/august when they work because of the volume of people on the island!

The same can be said about Mesón Gallego in Ibiza town (and the same when it was called Sa Caldera)... they take part of july and all august off and stay open the rest of the year!

Anyone eating in these 2 places in ibz town

i ll add restaurants visits (can caus, punta carretas, cas pages,sa carboneria for steakhouse) to my summer trip, 1 by day at least & discard daytime parties as i need more recovery time otherwise it just wont do at night in the clubs :D, just filling my list ...
La bodega is not on the list from tapas from opening mates, doesnt look tasty :p

Anyone know what's happened to Can Burrito in Ibiza Town?

We were on our way here last Saturday and were disappointed it was no longer there. Has it moved to a different location perhaps?

reading lots of good things about El Bigotes - do you have to book in advance? or can you just turn up?

It depends - I managed to blag a table the night before on the phone last time I went, we went by boat and swam in for lunch. Used to go there to reserve in person 1-2 days before and leave a cash deposit. But it got a lot more touristy last couple of years and I kind of backed off making the effort. For over 1-2 people, you usually have to book quite far ahead.
a cousin of the owner and his mates (including my uncle) wanted to go tomorrow friday so they phoned on monday...

sorry cousin, we're fully booked every day of the week!

As much as i've been criticising Bossa of late...I have remembered having a massive Calzone that was amazing at Amina last year.

And a fairly pricey but nice steak at Justo Enfrente.

I mentioned Amina in my review earlier this week, just superb pizzas and great value for money. If your after a quick bite to eat before going out for the evening and don't want to break the bank, this is probably my new favourite in Bossa.

Is the Destino 2 Tapas Restaurant in St. Gertraudis still open? I had very great tapas there 3 years ago.
