when I was a child my Spanish gran used to trick me into eating conejo in her paellas by pretending it was chicken because she knew I wouldn't eat it otherwise :lol:
 
Anywhere like Balafia but suitable for a non meat eater? My wife eats fish/seafood but not meat...looking for similar vibes, reasonable, simple menu and proper ibicenco

Any tips on where to get something like this? As crazy as it may sound, I only eat Salmon and it would be a bit crazy to eat something that has traveled as far to Ibiza as I have. But I would be interested in paella with meat! Is that a big breach of etiquette? 😅

it's a myth that you can't have meaty paellas and a lot of Valencian ones actually don't bother including seafood but my personal faves are mar y montañas which will usually feature a combo of chicken/rabbit + prawns and other seafood

Where I live on mainland, the better restaurants tend to only serve it on Thursdays but that may be different on the islands?

That's great! This has actually left me a little disappointed that I haven't learned to eat seafood and other fish, because I've often overheard people praising a restaurant's paella in big words! Pescado a la sal has also intrigued me many times, but I haven't tried it yet. Maybe I should encourage myself with that in September.. 🤔
 
Any low key local eateries to recommend in Ibiza town/Figueretas area? It would be nice to find a cheap place for breakfast and low key local style dining, If possible?

Not the first time I talk about this place here, but it's easily my favourite restaurant in SJ district (including SJ, St Miguel, St Vincent, Benirras, etc...)
The place is superb, the food fine and gourmet, the prices correct and the service perfect 👌
Go there, you will thank me later.
 
Anyone know if tijuana tex mex in San An is closed? Website no longer works and they’ve not posted since January
