And look out for ourselves really, Yes it's easy to just leave your bad on a bench while you are having a sit down, But need to be aware of who is around!

I'm pretty sure actually that the same guy who we saw take that girls bag was the same one who tried to pinch a girls bag near the Ship one day when i went in june! Tanned looking guy always got a baseball cap on and usually a white polo shirt! so beware guys!

ON june , when i had a ride with boys (all drunk except me), close to west end (we're coming from bay bar), i keep an eye to all members of the pack because of the "black mama" wiating for that one of us, get out of the pack,& when it happen, they rush as sharkes around the mate,& because i stay close to him to show them that i get their trick: i know who you are & your way :x to earn money...sometimes when alone, in westedn, not very secure, i grab a emty glass bottle & it makes feels more secure 8) C'mon black mamas (scumbz in paris are worse than black mamas, pursesnatchers (from midle east on the whole:roll:) with knife & so on ) , want to be stabbed by a bottle :lol: (i know this kind of scumbagss as i used to hang in a flew market in paris with all scumbs purse snatching)

^^ I do think that's all a bit over the top but whatever makes you feel better. Yes they are annoying and predatory but I have always managed to fend them off verbally and very succinctly. If you are alone and extremely drunk / out of it to the point of incapability then obviously you leave yourself vulnerable. Otherwise a purposeful and decisive 'no', no engagement with them in a human way and don't linger. I have run the San An gamut countless times alone at all hours of the night and never felt any need for empty bottles or packs or friends to look out for me.
 
As a girl walking past them home, often very late and alone I've alway found a polite nod and good morning work to avoid being mugged or abused. I wouldn't advise a man smiling at them though, probably would indicate you wanted to engage in other activities.
 
Well since getting my phone pick pocketed in June every time i walked alone through san antonio especially at night i kept my hands in my pockets and avoided the areas where they hang about!

personally i would not do this, when you get a smack out of the blue and your hands are in your pockets, you fall on your face, leave your wallet at home, split your money in to several pockets if you can.

my sister was on her way to the bus station Thursday there, to get the bus to amnesia with a big group from Ibiza rocks bar.. as they were waiting to get on the bus groups of women were coming around back of the group going through peoples bags. Luckily her friend felt her back move and turned around just in time and one of them was trying to open my sisters bag! They confronted them but she said they just smirked and ran away. They then got on the bus and watched as they done the same to other people. My sister was so annoyed as she usually keeps an eye on her bag, thankfully she was lucky this time. Is this a regular occurrence at the bus station?
 
It is not uncommon for me to wear a gumshield with blades around the office, sometimes I also carry my empty coke zero plastic bottle which I wave in a menacing fashion at others in the office. The Wharf can be a dangerous place once you get away from the foodcourt.

Last week when Kevin refused to pick up his photocopying I shanked him with a M+S salad fork.
 
We have a bit of banter with some of them, i have noticed they don't try and grab you anymore which they have done in the past!
