A big group of us are heading to an Oasis gig in a couple of hours. Anyone seen them recently? :D I've never seen them before, really looking forward to it 8)

Lots of my mates are a bit worse for wear already though, they've come from a carry on after their works night out last night...tut tut

Are you serious? 8O

I like live music... especially if the act puts on a good show.

Oasis aren't the most exciting live band I've seen but they are (or at least, used to be) really solid musicians and play really tight as a band.

My first concert at age 11 was Culture Club. My friend and I won tickets on a radio contest and his dad drove us to the concert and waited for us outside

I love Culture Club   Reminds me of growing up in Dubai in the 80's

Honestly never been to a concert, was never really into bands, but really looking forward to this tonight :D

Think there's about 25 of us going now, should be sweet :D :P

I saw them at MK (on the Sunday) and tehy were rocking! Apparently they weren't too hot on Saturday, but then they were billed with loads of other acts.

I've only seen them once, thoguh I can't ever imagine them being anything other than mindblowing if they played the classics.

Thats what I'm going for, love their older stuff.

The Coral are supporting them, should be good to :P

Actually, reading my post again, I should clarify.

By "exciting", I mean they don't run around on stage with theatrics and stuff as some other bands do. Liam tends to stand behind his mic and rock forward and back.

They are "exciting" in terms of quality of music and sound. Noel is a perfectionist and it shows. Some of their older songs are stellar.

lol at the cardiff gig, during foo fighters a friend of mine lost his balance in the crowd, many people fell into him and in an effort to stay on his feet-put all his weight on one bent leg..BANG went knee, hit the deck and got trampled, came out of it with a missing shoe and torn ligaments, I loved seeing him staggering on crutches today

I saw those guys something like 10 years ago 8O

Damn, I'm getting old :?

Likewise  I first saw them in 1992 Fergie playing to about 200 people, then saw them @ Glastonbury in 1994. I've seen them few times since and for me they've never blown me away (Stone Roses triads imo  )

im off to the glasgow gig on thurs, hope they play some of the classics, especially live forever.

I think Oasis are just amasing, reminds me of growing up and going to underage parties and all that. Champagne Supernova would always get played when everyone was hammered after drinking cheap cider that would blow your head off, ahhh the memories! Slide Away is superb, talk tonight, rockin chair, cast no shadow, cigarettes and alcohol... i could go on and on.

The Masterplan album is fantasic, hard to believe they're all b-sides.

I can always relate to Noel's lyrics and put them in the context of my life and maybe thats why they'll always be my favourite band. and you cant beat their attitude, first class.

"Stay young and invincible coz you know just what we are. Come what may you know we're unstoppable! My faith is unshakable." Words of wisdom from Noel.

I simply could not agree with you more.

Happy, happy days.

Getting all mysty eyed now remembering it all!

i saw them at hampden park in june and i have to say, it was one of the most amazing nights of my life! oasis are one of my all time favourite bands and ive never been able to get hold of tickets for any of their previous gigs. i paid £100 for a ticket off ebay, and it was worth every penny.

they mostly played a lot of their old stuff. it was amazing, i was soo excited. i tried to get as near to the front as possible and got a bit squashed, thought my ribs were gonna crack! they were having to let people over the barrier cos everyone was pushing forward so much and some girl had a fit and had to be stretchered away.

anyway, their new video has clips in it from that gig. i'll never forget it, its the best gig ive been to. :P

Just got in from the whole nigth out....one of the best nights of my life. They played all their all good classics (including Champagne Supernova)

Have to say one of the best nights out ever, and the whole show was mind blowing 8)

If you can see them, I'd go for it....excellent. Very happy Andrew :D 8) if not a bit drunk :?

Another band who define a period of your life. I lived in Manchester from 92 - 95/6 and the it was a cast iron routine that, after a night out, my then girlfriend and I would drift off to sleep to Definitely Maybe in a stoned haze. I always hung on for 'Married with Children' before I'd let myself drop off.

Funny enough, she lived in Burnage, so when we stayed at hers, we could have nipped around to Gallaghers and asked them to play it live

yeah man, seen em twice now, the latter was at old traffoed cricket ground, always give a good performance, loved the bit where liam dedicated "stop crying your heart out" to the man u players in the vip seats!!
