this was a press release that was put out by san an, sta eulalia and san juan mayors a few weeks ago after the first music council of ibiza had put out their press release

online translation spoke here:lol:
from what i understood here, there is a big disagreement about funding and promoting the clubs from the new music consell....

If that was an automatic tralslation I’m impressed, if its not I’m not

My first impression is that this seem to develop into a healthy discussion about the music policy in the island. Maybe that is just what is needed. I therefore doubt we will end up the ridiculous 4:30pm-6:00am.

To you locals; is this getting much attention by the people of Ibiza or does it seem like most people don’t really care?

maybe there is a chance that typical politics will prevail....you know, where there is just so much bickering followed by red tape and endless bureaucracy that nothing gets accomplished....or at least nothing for a few years anyway! :)

ITo you locals; a) is this getting much attention by the people of Ibiza or b) does it seem like most people don’t really care?

i cant speak for everyone .but .. a) no & b) yes

the diario did a poll on their website a few weeks ago after the music council was formed and asked whether that govn money should be used to promote the clubs/clubbing - you can guess what the result of that was....

"Sant Josep The City Council has drafted a new ordinance to regulate the use of the beaches in the municipality. This legislation should come into force before next summer and is expected initial approval Monday by agreement of the full committee. "

trouble is they dont say what the new regulations are

"At the same meeting, convened for seven in the afternoon, will address the problems associated with the night during the summer, it is planned to amend several articles of the ordinance which regulates the opening and closing hours of establishments ."

dontcha just love the psoe ?

so go speculate

If it's 6am till 12noon now it can only get worse :( I'm still waiting for the results of the Monday meeting about 3 weeks ago lol

I wonder what these regulations could be, No dancing on the beach perhaps? (we may ruin the sand)

... the 4.30pm-6am rule has been passed in san josé...
"... Esta normativa debe entrar en vigor antes del PROXIMO VERANO ..."

"... PROXIMO VERANO ..." - what does "proxima" mean exactly ?

THIS summer or NEXT summer ?
summer 2008 or summer 2009 ??

i cannot wait for the worldwide condemnation of this

*laughs*

stand back ;)

so basically dc10, who have spent the last couple of months opening at midnight and got f**k all in summer cant er open on a morning morning and the the er hundreds of people who turned up at space in the afternoon - now cant - so that leaves on average 50,000 clubbers a day - er unaffected ;)

dontcha just love the socialists :)

maybe one thing should be clarified mcrackin

this is only going to affect dc10 and space - it is not going to affect in any way shape or form eden, es paradis, amnesia, privilege, pacha or el divino

but thats not news is it ???

Does this affect beach bars that play music (such as the Blue Marlin)? If not, I imagine these places will get very full during the daytime.....

From the article:

"Si el vertido de residuos se considera infracción muy grave, entran en la categoría de graves otras como el abandono de animales, el uso de aparatos sonoros, la pesca con caña en la orilla del mar durante la temporada de baños, el estacionamiento en la arena, la instalación de tiendas de campaña o encender fuegos o barbacoas."

It appears that this new law says that the use of sound systems on the beach is a serious offence. Does this apply to the existing beach bars or is this just saying that someone can't bring their boombox to the beach and jam out?

... matutes, the boss in the shadow ...
who are pro-golf courses, pro-motorways, pro-port in es vivé
and pro-lots of other things
ibicencos dont want ...

UPDATE

"...
Abel Matutes buys Es Vedra in Ibiza

Not content with getting knocked back
trying to build a golf course in Playa d’en Bossa,
Abel Matutes and a Dutch consortium have instead bought Es Vedra
and its sister island Es Vedranell.
This actually makes perfect sense because San Jose have no control
over Es Vedra so they can do what they want there.

Plans are to put a small 9 hole golf course on Es Vedranell and
a 24 bedroom Hotel on Es Vedra
which will be connected to Es Vedranell by a new bridge.
..."
