Nastydirtysexmusic on terrace for We Love Sundays

Groove Armada and Tomy Novy don't excite me really either.
GA still rock it, but it's not the most groundbreaking of sounds.
But they have a coup in Nic F.
He's prob the most in form house dj around at the moment and really pushing some great new music. And a top bloke as well.

I really hope who ever closes the terrace will be someone different than Groove Armada, I really like their stuff but want someone a bit tougher to close to terrace :D

Someone mentioned Danny Howles, that would be intresting, also Nic F I would not mind seeing..

What ever happens I think Lawler will be hard to beat, the last few years he has provided the perfecs 9-12 set on the terrace

If Groove Armada close the terrace then I could tell you now what we'll be hearing each week - Superstylin, Billie Jean, Born Slippy, Promised Land..............

the thing with Steve Lawler closing the terrace was that there was a bridge between the house of the early evening and the tougher sound inside after midnight.

NDSM would be the obvious ones to replace him but would a 2-3 hour set do them justice?

Perhaps a better promoted NDSM on the Caja Roja might work - give them full billing rather than the wee dude handing out flyers in Space!

my thoughts exactly, although they create an atmosphere, no denying that.
The good thing with Lawler is that he pushed a harder sound last year which now every second dj is playing and you were hearing tracks 8-12 months before they came out.
You'll get similar with Fanciulli.

I've always quite like going inside from about 10pm-12 anyway, you get to hear some great residents, Jason Bye, David Phillips etc.

They're just your typical party DJs, maybe earlier in the evening they'd go down better but I know I'd get bored of them very quickly with them closing the terrace every week :?

same with Morillo at the opening/closing.
My mates go crazy for him but I think he's massively overated. There's only so many times you can hear Nirvana, Tainted Love, Blue Monday etc without wanting to scream.
Other dj's BREAK big records on the Terrace, not fill a set with 2 hours worth of already big records.

That's IF the terrace closes for WLS at the same time as previously? I still think the roof will be closed and the party will carry on 8) 8)

Conmpletely agree, I don't want to go to We Love Sundays and be able to recognise 80% of what is being played

Definately, it's always great when you hear an amazing new song on the Terrace that you've heard maybe once before (usually in Pacha a couple of days before!)

but the terrace isn;t for tyhe people who go there every week. The workers don;t put up with the crowds and get bored of it IMO. Sundays Space is for your one week/enders. No-one misses space if you're only there for one week.

It's not 'just another night' for most people , it's the main focus of their (one week/one weekend) holiday. Damn right the anthems should be dropped, because it's that sort of atmosphere. I don't want to turn up there and go on some bleepy techy journey. I want to hear peope going mental to this seasons big* tunes (obviously along with other tracks, I'm not talking Hedkandi/Defected here!).

* by big, I don't mean Lola's etc, I mean, say, eg last year, Kinda New, Rocker, Depeche Mode Little More Love etc. The tunes people talk about on their return. Not anonymous unkown shit.

but if you look at the home/We Love... line-ups and especially the We Love...Homelands line-ups - its not about playing to the crowd (most of the time) and "big tunes"

the We Love... brand seems to be making a concerted effort to move to a more challenging booking policy

this is evident with the news so far (NDSM, Ghenacia & Fanciulli)

they are even moving away from booking the Sashas & Digweeds etc too much

I'm a first timer heading to Ibiza so excuse the question but where do you go for the occasional bleepy techy or dark *insert genre* journey. I do like the relaxed mind expanding set from time to time. Recommendations please...Underground is my first guess.

Tim said they're def doing it, the plot thickens :?

I haven't heard Groove Armarda do a DJ set before so i suppose i'll be quite intriguied.

I'm not really feeling the harder sound as much as most....i think a DJ needs to mix it up on the terrace and give something for everyone.

The people i would like to see on the terrace are MAW!

Now that would be worth hearing!

I saw them a few years ago when it was Home @ Space on Sundays and yes it was everything you'd expect from them and more :D Don't think Darren Hughes is really going down the road of booking that sound for the terrace anymore tho :?
