a little bird told me that, apart from a new bar, they also want to do apartments above. as you can see in this picture taken some hours ago the remaining walls have been demolished too :!:

half a year since the name's up on the facade and still nothing going on in there ! !

the new babylon is ready to be rented out but they want far too much money for it :!:

it has a ground floor bar (entrance opposite golden gate), an impressive basement club of 260m2 (entrance on the corner of the building) and a top floor bar (entrance opposite colon). the lay out is really bad though..... so much space wasted on corridors to the toilets and on staff toilets that the stock room is the size of a large toilet cubicle. they have also put a pillar right in front of the dj box so that his view is obscured for half of the dancefloor.....

apparently the people behind taboo downstairs wanted to turn it into a strip club (not a bad idea as it wont be easy to make money up there without a terrace) but it finally didnt happen. according to the latest rumours, its going to open as a gay bar..... although that seems VERY difficult to believe ! ![/QUOTE]

apparently they reduced the price of rent (from 42 to 32.000€) but still no takers.....

apparently pukka up (es paradis) is in talks with pacha for next season..... the global room on mondays is the rumoured possibility at the moment :!:

as you might remember, last spring it was rumoured they were leaving to go to el divino this summer. seems like they wont be back at es paradis next year as their entire summer has been terrible with no customers and nobody is happy with it there..... last week, for example, they didnt get more than 400 people in ! !

apparently it got a fine of 75.000€ for not respecting the closing hours so the guy that used to rent it disappeared and the owner, for obvious reasons, dont want to pay all that money so seems like it wont open ever again.....

Dear EVERYONE!!!

We are sad to announce that we have come to the end of an era. We will be closing the doors on Bar 1 y Dos for the last time on October 17, 2009, yes next month.

Mitch has been offered a good job, which she has already started by the way, and feels it is time to stimulate her brain for a while again, using her IT knowledge and skills. And while I fully agree with her, I do not wish to run the bar on my own, so we have decided to take a break from it.

This does not mean that we are completely leaving Ibiza - ABSOLUTELY NOT! I will continue to live and work here while Mitch will commute as often as she can. This will enable us to stay in touch with friends and contacts; keep our eyes open and ears to the ground, seeking our next location.

Be assured, we will be back in the business in a couple of years time - hopefully Bigger and Better.

So watch this space for news of our next venture!!!

To all of you that have supported us over the last four years, thank you for your custom and growing friendships. We will keep the Facebook page and website active for the moment to stay in touch.

We do hope that there is a possibility that some of you might be able to make it to our closing party!!! For those of you not on facebook to receive the invitation - it will be a fancy dress party.

no carl cox at amnesia, at least for 2010, as they are quite happy with the numbers from release yourself and armada so they will continue next year :!: :!:
