Jade Goody Dies on Mothers Day

I agree with what Becki and the small minority have said, leave the woman alone, she was 27, nobody deserves to die so young nevermind leaving behind children.

I think it's sickening that people can be so heartless, im just waiting for the joke text messages to start

I think its sad and the 1 good thing to have come out of it is so many more girls are going to be tested.

But I cant understand how it can be compared to Princess Diana??? Stephen Fry apparantly said in the paper today she was the Princess Diana of the slums. Dont quite see the resemblance there.....

I agree with Becks, but can also see the other side of things also.

Thousands of young peopel die young from cancer each year. 1 in 3 of us will get cancer (out of the 15 who have posted on here, that is 5 of us) and 1 in 4 of us will die of it. It is now the biggest killer, FACT.

But how many girls will think about smears when she's yesterdays news :?:

And how many (talented) famous people die from cancer in a dignified manner without fuss ? Not with camera crews following 24-7 ?

my best mate died of cancer a few years ago. such a terrible terrible thing to see a beautiful 25year old man waste away to nothing knowing there is NOTHING you can do to stop it
i think the whole jade goody thing does highlight 2young girls out there that it CAN happen to anyone.... even young, 'famous' people etc.....

moral of the story girls: SPREAD EM EVERY 2 YEARS...... ;)

The woman's dead for Gawd's sake, let her rest in peace!

It would be nice if she was left to rest in peace, I agree.

But sadly I don't think that will happen. Certainly not when there are still pennies to be squeezed out of her carcass.

There's no way Heat et al are going pass up the opportunity to print the 'Jade's Legacy' issue. Plus her Mum (apparently played by Zelda from Terrahawks) hasn't yet bared her soul to the News Of The World in a touching exclusive.

Is it every 2 years in Australia? That's really good - its 3 years here.

I know what you are all saying, but I had cancerous cells removed, and its horrible and traumatic and hurts like buggery, however, afterwards, if anything it made me more alert to the different types of symptoms you can get and I went for tests every 6 months for a year then yearly for 3 years.

I have only last month had to go back in for more tests as I thought the symptoms I had were similar to those in the past - and as much as I never ever wanted to go through that treatment again, I did go back and I didnt ignore the signs - luckily it hasnt come back and I have never been so friggin happy .... all I am saying is dont bury your head in the sand like some dimwit and risk losing everything..... :spank:

im due for a doctors visit soon......
*gulps*

Yes it's sad, yes the children are the real victims here, yes she was stupid to ignore the letters. Move on.

Must admit that the coverage has hacked me off but not because of the amount, more the sychophants labelling Jade as some sort of cult hero.

Just absolute b0ll0cks some of it..

"Princess Diana from the wrong side of the street" wa one quote from the news the other day.

Give me strength.

And as for all those people sucked in by the media coverage leaving flowers and 'tributes' outside the house, FFS!!

I bet the local Aldi was a ghost town yesterday....

The publicity surrounding it is quite frankly "one lotta pish" An 8 page pullout celebrating her life in the paper today when she atually hadn't done anything.

God bless her racist soul.

From the research I've done through my job in the media, the newspapers are locked in a desperate circulation war because sales are dropping across the board and they are losing advertising money. It costs money to do proper journalism and trash news is cheap, lowest common denominator and basically preys on people's base emotions. The phenomenon of grief-porn of this kind is relatively new to the UK and the newspapers and mags have been ruthlessly exploiting the novelty angle on this story for all it's worth.

However you spin this story, it is total non-news and it is shameful how so many otherwise bright people are gratuitously absorbed in what is a personal tragedy when there is REAL, trully apocalyptic 5h1t on a mass scale going off in Sudan and Sri Lanka which barely scrapes on to p17 of the express...

The coverage doesn't bother me - you can either choose to read it or not. Turn the TV off if you dont wanna watch it.
It seems like people are going OTT about this - either for or against the coverage. Some people are too absorbed in the media circus and it is silly - but some people are too against it! If the newspapers want to cover Jade's story so be it, some people obviously wanna read it!

Media or not - anyone suffering from cancer and dying at such a young age is tragic.

It's the same as the Baby P case - thousands of people making it their own personal problem. Yes I agree it was a tragedy that the little boy died, but I'm not about to go and visit his grave with a bunch of flowers! People just take things to the extreme in this country...

It's a strange thing that people seem to like nothing better than emersing themselves fully in other people's misery.

Christmas isn't Christmas for most unless Eastenders run a harrowing three-hour special featuring the demise of one of its most beloved characters.

Eventually it'll all boil down to a nightly half-hour show that features a weeping tramp with slashed wrists half-arsedly penetrating a stray dog under an abandoned railway-arch in the middle of a terrible storm.

The thingir Becks that it was her choice to live and die in my face. It was just not possible to 'ignore' the preposterous coverage. it was the lead story on the entire BBC yesterday.

She chose to become a public figure so I have a complete right to think and say anything I like about her.

Thankfully, once she is interred we should hear alot less of the racist munter.

just a comment... every 2 years??? In Canada it is every year... anytime you go to the doctor, they won't give you birth control pills for eg, unless you have one.. so it's usually every 6 months. I'm in New Zealand at the moment and it's every 6 months here too.
