INTRODUCE YOURSELF PLEASE

Hello

My name is diver, I have a sense of humour.

I am 45 and married since 1994.

I have two teenage daughters.

I like reading, keeping fit and music.

This is a long post (I'm not looking to break a record here but thought it might be better to say everything now rather than post new threads). Let me know if I should have made a separate thread.

Hi, I'm Ricky from Essex and I haven't been to Ibiza for 15 years (Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten and Lisa Lashes are the only names I can recall)

After suggesting Portugal, mainland Spain, Tenerife etc for a euro break, my wife said she wanted something more interesting than your typical beach holiday. So I said "how about Ibiza" (my wife has never been) and we booked the final week of Sept.

We are generally from an "alternative music" background (punk/metal/rock etc) but have both always been loved electronic music all styles of dnb (new and cold), Burial, Daft Punk. Atmosphere and music is what's most important to us (not into VIP, mainstream EDM/cheesy stuff, arrogant posers... you get the idea)

As you can probably tell, we are not House fanatics but we still love the music. I've been out of touch for the last decade. The amount of parties to choose from is overwhelming and we are finding it very difficult to decide. We do want some variety.

Based on research we shortlisted the following:-

Sat 23rd Paris by night - question is will Bob Sinclar deliver? I'm also sceptical of Pacha after some bad reviews I have read. This night is a maybe - see Friday.

Re Bob Sinclair, I was there on 03-June and while he had the crowd in the palm of his hands, he'd do things that annoyed me a little - dropping in can-can music so his dancers could put on a show & wave their feathers about . . . more than once !!! Just showboating his was through his set really.

Anyway, Marvin Humes was the big surprise of the night, dropping some great tunes. He's the only DJ I heard playing my fav track of the season ID - Troy.

2ManyDJs were super to watch, and they killed it with their set. I see they're listed for 23-Sep too.

Don't get me wrong, we had a great night, but I love Pacha as a venue so I'm bias !

That's the kind of thing I was worried about with Bob. I've have seen 2manydjs before and thought they were alright, I'm sure they would add a bit of variety to the usual Djs. Still not sure what Pacha would be like as a club (I won't be doing VIP).

Now pretty much settled on Pikes & Amnesia Monday, Privilege Thursday and any other clubs we will decide on the day. Pacha Saturday is still a possibility.

Sunday is a choice between Destino and Blue Marlin which are both free I believe!

Hello,

I am Brandon (37), and currently live in the Virgin Islands (Caribbean). I fell in love with Ibiza on my 1st visit in 2003, and have been back a few more times since. I have used the spotlight party calendar and forums since 03 to help plan all my trips. I am looking forward to another visit in June 2018.

Hope you're OK Brandon and not too much damage from the storm. :(

Hello Hello!

Long time lurker on this forum. I'm in my mid thirties now, went to Ibiza 5 times during my twenties but then the kids came along. Last year the mother in law asked if she could take the kids on holiday for a week so we took the opportunity to get back to Ibiza. We had an amazing time and It looks like the same could be happening again this year....

Thought I'd get more involved on this forum as I read it regularly.

Bring on the sun and bass!

nice one, come forward all you lurkers!!! (y)

Hi!

Talking of lurkers I guess I'll make a post. I'm Dan 29 this will be my 3rd year going back to Ibiza. First time was back in 2013 then again last year both for 11 days. Doing a 2 week stint this year with two good friends in September. I usually use the forum to get the information on artists playing but I've always been a reader and never a poster until today so I felt obliged to drop a post. Musically my taste is pretty varied and I like to try new things out. I went to Cream and My House last year and loved both nights but there's a lot more I wanna do this year.

Hopefully I'll try and be more involved!

Booked a holiday to Kos back in 1988 and the travel agent messed up and ended up coming to Ibiza.
Sold my new 3D Superwoofer stereo to a waiter and went with him to the Es Puma party and Space.
Saw my first sunset and sunrise in the same night and fell in the love with the island.
Got dumped by my fiancé and been coming back ever since.
"I have seen things you people wouldn't believe..."
Seen Sasha stumbling up a road in the middle of nowhere , Sanchez get hit with an orange (from 20 yards out) , Cox throw his birthday flowers in my pals face , arm wrestled Mike at ManU and danced with Maradonna at Pacha.
Stuart Price get a face full of Claires arse ( no thanks , even Micky the Midget called a time out on that ) and Bez from the Mondays serving drinks and making mojitos to order.
This place STILL amazes me , after all these years , and growing old disgracefully is a mandatory requirement.

Al here, 37 years old and been going to Ibiza since I was 18. Just got back from our 12th/13th time(can’t quite remember).

Every time has been with my better half, and it was the first place we went on holiday together, both fell in love with the place instantly. Had a break of a few years and travelled the world and then started again.

Back again this year after a delay in our plans to have our wedding there. The plans started over 3 years ago, but my mum fell ill and I’ve only now started to come round and be able to think about it again, now she won’t be there.

Had an absolute amazing time this year and this forum definitely helped with that, so I decided to register to share some of my experiences and knowledge I’ve picked up over the years.

I’ll post more over the next few days when I get chance.

Hi all

Stumbled across this forum last week and since then I’ve been deep in the threads soaking up the info constantly.

Been going to Ibiza every year since 2012 when me and a group of mates just randomly booked it up and went and had a mad week!

Someone told me the place is magnetic, and they weren’t wrong ended up going twice last year.

Counting down till August when I’m away on a 10 day excursion back to the White Isle.

Already have tickets for Carl Cox at DC10. Also going to check out what Hi Ibiza is like, never ventured in there last year after Space had closed its doors.

Also hired a jeep for a few days as we’re planning to get out further afield and see the rest of the island.

Finding this forum a great source of info, cheers
