INSANE @ Pacha 2015

VIP - A person of great importance or influence, especially a dignitary who commands special treatment. As far removed from the original ethos of what it is all about as you can get. A lot of bollocks.

Noooooo..... Please not another VIP debate. 95% of us all agree on this. "Bottle Service" is sometimes OK....

Anyway.....

Anyone go to Insane last Friday? Line-up was solid IMO: Catz n Dogz, MK, Nick Curly? Any reports?

sometimes you want to celebrate an event with the guys a small bachelor party. and again pacha's price is reasonable.

Towards the end of last season, when MK was attracting people that just wanted to hear him play "My Head"..... there were quite a few young blonde essex birds who had no idea what was going on other than filming the opening of an MK set. However, things usually calmed down after a few tunes. Only caught one MK set there this season and he played a much deeper set than I have heard him play.

I have some friends that think the Insane crowd is slightly passive, but for me it's mainly a slightly older crowd, classier crowd who like good music but don't act like they are at an EDM concert. They are a) classy enough not to be filming every second of the DJ so they can post to FaceBook, and b) not totally mashed up like a MusicOn crowd that they are just line up in a row facing the DJ totally mashed with their shades on.

A Goldilocks crowd then, not too irritating, not too mashed. Just right!

Pacha's layout isn't very typical versus a usual club layout if that makes sense. Lots of platforms, coves. It's tiered and staggered. As for the VIP they squeeze them in wherever they can. And depending on how much you're willing to spend / how early you book / who you book through will determine where you sit.

I'd suggest you probably want the VIP at the back of the main room which overlooks the dancefloor & faces the permanent DJ booth.

I'm sure Stivi can confirm, but I think I'm right in saying that the ones you can purchase from Spotlight at €550 per couple are one and the same, and give you €500 worth of drinks (???) - which will get you a btl of premium spirit plus unlimited mixers.

Thanks for the info and good description of the layout. I'm actually more inclined to get a table if they are sprinkled throughout the club as opposed to one area. There's nothing wrong with securing a home base for the night! It's a marathon, and the mrs will appreciate a place to rest her feet.

Anyone else planning on being there on the 4th? I'm beyond excited.... this has been a dream of mine for the past 11 years.

went to insane yesterday, for my first time. was really disappointed. deco wise they have gone all elrow, with a handful of inflatables and that was it. none of the wacky stuff I've seen on pictures from last year.

it was an MK area10 takeover yesterday but to my surprise MK was already on from 3.30 to 5. his set was good but nothing unforgettable. the problem was when he left at 5 the place was completely dead for andhim. and I like their music! but almost everybody just went home after MK. never seen pacha that empty except maybe at 1am. andhim just havent got the pulling power to close a night in ibiza. timetables for this party are done by a monkey on a roulette table :spank:

That's pretty bad! But I kind of assumed that for these Area10 takeovers. It's all about MK! I mean most MK fans ain't going to want to see andhim afterwards. I respect him for trying to take things more underground but it ain't happening! Thankfully Insane will hand over to Digweed in September....

Saw MK there last year and you could see the majority were just there for him. Sad that it got that empty when he finished. People just there to see a name rather than be educated with different music.

Great line up this Friday, should be a different crowd.

Couldn't agree mere with that, that's clear with the packed nights like guetta & Bob Sinclar!

I'm massively green with envy that you'll see Dennis Ferrer next Friday  Enjoy enough for both of us!!

This may be slightly down to it being early/mid September and slightly less people around. MK is pretty much done for this season at Insane now. Digweed there for all final four dates - which makes sense as the crowd in ibiza becomes a bit more tech focused. Also, from my experience Pacha Friday's can fall off a bit and then last few weeks before closings become very busy again.

For example I remember one night mid-September 2011 when Friday's was "All Gone PT" (that year I was in Ibiza all of September and at Pacha every Friday & Sunday..... Ahhh memories)..... Anyway... One Friday mid-Sep Matthias Tanzmann was playing 5:30-Close. Amazingly the place became quite empty when Matthias came on at 5:30....but those of us on the dancefloor still had an absolutely amazing night even though everyone in the VIP and around had left. Probably still one of my favourite nights musically there. While it wasn't that busy he smashed it until 0730AM! In some ways Pacha is one of those clubs that basically can be quite empty at the end of a night but as long as you have a core very up for it crowd on the main dancefloor, it can still be brilliant.

Bit like some of the "Wisdom"
nights at Pacha in 2013. I mean the place was pretty dead some weeks, but the couple of hundred of us getting into Gerber and Matthew Jonson Live still made a brilliant night!

ok here we go...

11TH SEPTEMBER:
00:00-00:30: HECTOR MALLEN (PACHA RESIDENT)
00:30-1:30 ALDRIN & HONG (ZOUK CLUB)
1:30-3:00: JOHN DIGWEED
3:00-5:00: HOT SINCE 82
5:00-END: DENNIS FERRER

early start!

HaHa! Jesus the 30 Min SET! Even for Insane that is a new one! (granted it is a resident)
Gutted I am missing tonight, looks a good night!
Few people have commented that Ferrer has been on fine form this season too...

Very similar line up to when I went at the end of July, we went for the last hour of digweed then caught the start of Pete Tong before a bit of time out up on the rooftop before the main man Ferrer took to the decks at 5am, I deffo thought I wouldn't be able to stay on till that time as was already feeling the night was edging away BUT soooo glad we did - he did not disappoint! Like you I'm gutted to not be there tonight :(
To all of you that are going, have an amazing time....and I can't recommend enough the wait till 5am will be worth it!!
