INSANE @ Pacha 2015

I liked the set line ups last night.....with my highlight without a doubt was Dennis Ferrer, wasn't too sure id last till he came on let alone the entire set lol

I think this goes to show the slight dilemma this night has. So many conflicting interests and choices so suppose they will never please all of us. What was it like last night? Tong do a techy set?

Interested in seeing set times for when I go in Septmeber for Ferrer, Digweed and Hot Sice 82.

Going by this it could be cut anyway.

I really hope they let Digweed close the closing party!!

I hope so too! I think the last few seasons he has had a 6 hour gig in London the following Saturday after Insane closing..... so he has been slightly early. This year he has a 5 hour Thursday night set at XOYO on Thursday 01 Oct - the day before.

Looking at the line-up though, guessing (and its not great to ever guess with Pacha) it would be Digweed 0300 - 0500 and then maybe Kevin Saunderson 0500-07AM+ (or vice verca). I think Insane closing looks solid all night! Huxley is pretty good too!

I'd settle for 0300 - 0500! Just not any earlier plz Pacha!! First time I'll be seeing Saunderon so looking forward to that. And Hux always delivers.

You going, yeah? We should meet for a beer.

Reckon I'll be there for that night as well, after seeing Ferrer smash it yet again over the weekend at 51st State festival, hoping they don't rota him on first. But judging by the line-up don't think any of those three will be on before 0130-0200hrs?

Was surprised how good it was, much older crowd who spent far less time posing and much more enjoying themselves. Dennis Ferrer was the pick of the bunch although Derrick Carter ran him close. Sold out as well so reckon it'll be back next year. Entry was apparently a nightmare for some, heard of people queuing for four hours. Seems as though everyone arrived at the same time, early afternoon and staff couldn't process in time. No problems once inside the fence though. There'll be a review on spotlight soon.

We seem to have gone a little off topic but I wanted to add that I was at 51st state too, and I agree with you 100% about the crowd. Older clued up party people. Didn't see any shuffling all day! The event of the summer so far for me.

There's been a lot of talk on these forums lately about how people standing around recording performances (or themselves) can spoil an atmosphere. Never felt as strongly about it as didn't think it affected the time I was having until you get into a crowd who are focused on enjoying themselves, such as 51st State, then you realise the difference it makes!

Could be a parallel drawn between this and Insane where, in my experience the crowd are more involved in partying than at some of their other nights. That's why I'll be heading there for my only visit on Friday (not on the island on a Sunday). How's that for bringing it back on topic!

Towards the end of last season, when MK was attracting people that just wanted to hear him play "My Head"..... there were quite a few young blonde essex birds who had no idea what was going on other than filming the opening of an MK set. However, things usually calmed down after a few tunes. Only caught one MK set there this season and he played a much deeper set than I have heard him play.

I have some friends that think the Insane crowd is slightly passive, but for me it's mainly a slightly older crowd, classier crowd who like good music but don't act like they are at an EDM concert. They are a) classy enough not to be filming every second of the DJ so they can post to FaceBook, and b) not totally mashed up like a MusicOn crowd that they are just line up in a row facing the DJ totally mashed with their shades on.

How's it goin lads, over there this week and looking to go to this Fridays Insane. just wondering would I be better off buying tickets online beforehand or has anyone heard if there been cheaper tickets for Insane going at pre partys?

I'll be there on Sept 4. First time to Ibiza. I'm coming from Southern CA. I'm 38, going with the wife and two friends. Been going to clubs for close to 20 years, so I've been around the block. I've been reading through the forums, and finding lots of good info from you guys.

I have a question that's been touched on before. Does anyone know what the VIP table layout is for Insane? I understand there are differing opinions as to why someone would want to get a table, if it's worth it, etc. I would simply like to know what area the tables are in, and how they are laid out. We definitely want to be in the main room, and preferably close to the dance floor and in the mix.

Any feedback is appreciated. Cheers!

Pacha's layout isn't very typical versus a usual club layout if that makes sense. Lots of platforms, coves. It's tiered and staggered. As for the VIP they squeeze them in wherever they can. And depending on how much you're willing to spend / how early you book / who you book through will determine where you sit.

I'd suggest you probably want the VIP at the back of the main room which overlooks the dancefloor & faces the permanent DJ booth.

I'm sure Stivi can confirm, but I think I'm right in saying that the ones you can purchase from Spotlight at €550 per couple are one and the same, and give you €500 worth of drinks (???) - which will get you a btl of premium spirit plus unlimited mixers.

just get a table in the main room vip, dont think it matters much where u are at.

as long as youre in the vip you can move around all over the place

VIP - A person of great importance or influence, especially a dignitary who commands special treatment.

As far removed from the original ethos of what it is all about as you can get. A lot of bollocks.
